There is no hurry at all. I am also not narrow mindedly saying which is better, just sharing what my personal views and my dd’s experience.
If I remember the trail correctly, piggybank has also applied to NUS High but was not offered even an interview. So, maybe it is a good thing to piggybank otherwise the ds will be deprived of ACSI’s elite style learning.

RE: NUS High School of Mathematics and Science (Diploma)
Both are good schools but different in terms of teaching style, culture, etc. Most important what suits your dd. Last year, my dd scored 27x and she chose NUSH over RGS after much consideration and she is very happy there. From what we observed, their learning experience is very much modeled after the university and this we believe will be a great advantage when transitioning to uni after 6 years. Of course, RGS has a much longer history and brand name. So, eventually, ‘gain/loss’ or so called ‘value’ is going to be subjective.

RE: NUS High School of Mathematics and Science (Diploma)
Snowy116, for her 1st year this year, my dc is very happy in NUS High. She scored well enough to go to any top school of her choice but chose NUS High. No regrets so far. School indeed has many maths & science enthusiasts some who are really gifted. However, there are also several activities and enrichment classes for those kids interested in languages. Due to the small no. of pupils, resources are aplenty and school is very supportive of the kids in pursuing their interests, both academic and outside academic. CCA is relaxed and fun. Well, this is so far our experience for year 1, hopefully, year 2 will be equally enjoyable.
PS: in terms of hours, school starts at 7.40am, dc had 3 days of school which ended at 5/6pm, 1 day at noon and the last at 2pm. But there are break time in between. -

RE: PSLE 2013 - Results Discussion
Kudos to Glorymum and KSP website for this. I personally find this helpful in gauging where my dd stands and the knowledge (albeit risk of inaccuracies) is helpful in helping us make our choices carefully.
Since 2ppaamm is no longer in the system, s/he can ‘afford’ not to be kiasu anymore. So pls do not ‘disrupt’ and discredit the effort here. I’m sure many of us KSP still find it valuable! That’s the whole spirit about this website!
Ps: sorry I know this page is for reporting results but I just couldn’t hold myself back. -
RE: PSLE 2013 - Results Discussion
Hi,
With your above mention score, your daughter will have a high chance getting into dunman or sngs, for third language wise it depend on individual. Few years back, my niece T-score 283. She took 3rd language, but she give up eventually. As she could not cope with the distance and school workload.
Hi ksfaith, can share is your niece’s school dunman? The workload sounds scary and I hope to highlight to dd2 as she is considering it too. -

RE: PSLE 2013 - Results Discussion
Thanks for your replies, isetan and VALyap. My dd is feeling better now. Aberc’s analysis helps too. We hope dd gets either one, as she gave up her CO to pursue her dream school.

RE: DSA 2013
I have to agree that admin staff at TJC is spoiling the school's warm n friendly image. But the teaching staff n even the lady in charge of dsa are still as warm as my time when I was there.
My DD had 2 COs. One from TJC n one from another girls' sch. She's very sure she's going TJC cos she felt the warmth of the seniors n interviewers during her test n interview. She knows she will be happy there. :)
Hi, 3ofthem,
Firstly, congrats to you and your dd! Where you an ex-TJCian? May I know which girls' school did your dd get the CO from? My dd is in the same position and unlike your dd, mine said both about the same. So, really have no pref at this moment for her.
