IB is 6 year programme and no need to sit for O Levels. That is the main reason. May i know ur opinion too.
I heard that IB/IP is more for independent learners.. is your son one? I am not too confident that my dd can learn independently without a structured teaching. Not too sure also, sigh...

O level track have an end target date in mind, ip on the other hand does not have, and thus able to go more depth and more project work.
Of course there are some schools that run like an extended o level track... So the programme of the school is very important

      Thanks phtthp for the advice.

Problem is, based on dd's aggregate, i think she will be able to get into IP if we put it in the first choice. So the decision lies with us. What I am worried is the stress and workload of the IP route.

I think dependence on school. In my ds school, the o level track are more stressful and heavier workload than the ip track

Oh seriously? I thot IP students learn things at an accelerated pace hence more stressful.. sigh, its a tough decision to make

      Hi all

For t score 245, sec schools in West area besides Nan Hua and BPGHS...any other 4 good choices of sec Sch that can consider?

But for BPGHS, the sports CCA rather limited...common CCAs like swimming, badminton, soccer (football) which my ds interested all not available....so should I still put it as top 2 choices?

Appreciate your valuable advice and inputs...

      Thank you πŸ™‚
You should put some schools with aggregates much below 245 as your 5th/6th choices just in case...

Dear all, I am considering ACS \"O level\" for my ds. After his \"O level\" will he be given an option to continue ACS IB. Or he has to continue his \"A level\" in ACJC. Sorry i am new to the system so appreciate ur suggestions. His t-score is 250.

After he takes his O levels, he can choose to go to any JC (not necessary ACJC) or polytechnic. I dont think he will be offered IB after O levels since that preparation for IB would have began since secondary 1, or maybe latest secondary 2/3 ..

If MOE wants to scrap the program it will definitely annouce it a few years in advance so that existing PVs wont be affected. Some individual schools do scrap it too…
