although there are a few new condo coming up, it will not affect the p1 registration in the near future for those gg in thru phase 2b, grassroot path. The residents must form NC in order to be eligible to qualify for phase 2b. In fact, next yr should have high chance for phase 2b as now the grassroot needs to serve for two years in order to qualify for phase 2b. Also, no pv for some schools.

also impt to check with the grc if that condo is ‘endorsed’. don’t think that buy a newly-built condo nearby the school, grc will accept your grassroots application. those who buy the newly built condo nearby good school will end up in phase 2c phase.

Distance also comes in place if you join grassroots. It is misconception that grassroots has wide selection of school. Hence, aim for that school n make sure you join the correct GRC. Prepared to put in lots of time and effort when you join grassroots. I heard there are Kpi for the GRC member in order to qualify to receive that impt letter to register for phase 2b.

RE: Catholic High (Primary)
the probability will be slim in this case. If it does happen, I guess it will take one seat from phase 2C. Good to check with school on this case.

RE: Catholic High (Primary)
yes, 43 is the applicants. 26 vacancies for 2013. 3 twins got in last year. One ping pong ball has 2 numbers on it. once the twin ball got picked, it will take up 2 seats.

RE: Learning Point - Discussion
Lovinglife, you are very fortunate to have such a dedicated teacher. I called up the centre. I was told by the staff that the teacher will call the parent n I did feedback to her that I did not receive any call from teacher. No newspaper discussion, no debrief after lesson. She has helped me to feedback to management. I hope the management can look into it on why the standard are so much different for different classes.

RE: Learning Point - Discussion
My ds was at P1 headstart. He has progressed to P1 standard. quite disappointing on the teacher. The teacher no longer brief the parent unlike during P1 headstart time. Material so so. we are monitoring and thinking to switch my ds to other centre.

RE: Learning Point - Discussion
I was with my son during his placement test. He was asked to read a book. The assessor wrote 5 questions on a pc of paper and required him to find the answer from the book and wrote the answer by himself. It must be a complete sentence. After which, another open-ended question to ask him to write on his hobby. At LP, homework/home treat is given weekly and the child is expected to read the instruction by their own while doing the home work. Alot of writing is being done at LP and the teacher expects the child to know how to read, write n spell.
