Thanks.
i wonder if they were found out and the case was reported to MOM, and repatriated. Can they still come back?
They are still a human not a criminal. So getting pregnant is not a crime, it is their choice.

RE: Maid repatriated due to pregnancy
Hi
Does anyone here know if a maid is repatriated due to pregnancy, are they banned to work in Singapore forever? -
RE: Frustrated!!-Fresh , Ex-Sin ,transfer-maid or overseas-maid?
To be fair, i had 4 good ones so far and completed one to two contracts. 2 completed first contract and transfer to me. The other 2 was transfer, one was \"mistreated\" by employer then transfer and the other the employer decided that they do not need a FDW.
But for the past one year, i had terminated 5 in 3 months.....
After we decided that no maid is best and we are trying to adjust our lifestyle accordingly. The one who was good and worked for us almost 4 yrs wanted to come back to us......

RE: Frustrated!!-Fresh , Ex-Sin ,transfer-maid or overseas-maid?
I usually go for Filipino due to language issue. Whether fresh, ex-sin or transfer… i think depends on luck.
If i ask around, there are people who told me:
"fresh" good, you train them to whatever and however you like.
Ex-Sin - too clever and will play trick.
Transfer - "already got problem".
Fresh
So far, i had 2 "fresh" ones before. One apparently was a waitress in Phil. One would think waitress will be on their toes to serve customers. Well… she really display the "wait"ress quality. Really stand there and wait for instruction - eg. dry the dishes… really just dry and stop and not use her initiative to keep it until you tell her to. If that was her first few weeks, i’m fine. But after 4-5months, i gave up.
Another fresh one can also tell you about her rights from the MOM guidebooks. She literally tell me what she can and she cant do - that is if i ask her to wake up at 6 am, she will go to her room at 10 pm and tell you it is her rest time. Even when she was already in her room at 8 pm
Ex-Spore & transfer
hiaz… came back drunk, extend curfew on her own, hide in the store room to listen to music whole day, keep losing money, break a few things in a week, maid cooking only for herself and not for employer (she cooked, she ate and then when we asked what’s for dinner? She said finish) -
RE: Way to GEP for a Normal Kid

The basic points are:
1. GEP is for the kids with special talent, not for everyone. i.e. not everyone can be pushed into GEP. Don't simply push the kids for GEP as the only target. If parent decide to push, don't be regret if the kid couldn't go into GEP or can't graduate from GEP.
2. It is not so obvious to identify a kid with special talent. GEPer could be anyone from anywhere. parent don't need to set barriers first before decide to push the kids.
3. Potential of kids requires to develop, a gifted kids may loss the chance without proper development. It is responsibility of parent to develop them.
4. To push the kids is not for perks or competition, it is to unleash the best from them.
5. The direction and ways of pushing is up to kids and parents. There are choices here, don't miss it.
The article is to share some characters observed from a GEPer who looks normal and ordinary; it also shares the experiences to develop the kid.jpe:
I am worried for those parents whose children are going to take the GEP screening & selection test soon, as they will think that it is their responsibility to push and develop their \"normal\" kid.If parents don't believe there is a jade inside the stone, the kids may lose the chance.
If parents believe the jade should pop up from the stone by itself, they may be disappointed.
I find your posts contradicting, on the one hand, you claim that there is no special preparation needed but on the hand, you advocate pushing the kid hard to better unleash their potential as jade will not pop out by itself!
I think it may be too late to develop a child if they're taking the GEP screening this year, unless the child is already that calibre -

- definitely agree. If a child is not suitable to be in the program, parents actually do more harm than good to the child
2. It is not so obvious to identify a kid with special talent. GEPer could be anyone from anywhere. parent don't need to set barriers first before decide to push the kids. - agree.
Unless someone who is experience may be able to identify the special talent.
3. Potential of kids requires to develop, a gifted kids may loss the chance without proper development. It is responsibility of parent to develop them.
- agree! I remember identifying kids who have the potential but parents are happy not to develop the child further. It takes time and effort to map out the development and at the same time not stress the child. -

I'm not going to read the book as I find it very tiring to read Chinese! I just question why any parent of a \"normal\" kid would want to specially groom a child for GEP. Won't that just create additional stress all round? It could have long-term emotional and self-esteem repercussions if the child is constantly struggling in school instead of enjoying the learning. Just my thoughts.
Simkhoo, you said \"why any parent of a \"normal\" kid would want to specially groom a child for GEP\" - as far as i know, many parents want their kids to go into GEP - more often than not, they didnt think about the kid. They only think of the \"advantages\" - as in: can get through DSA easily, prestige, make them proud
They didnt know what the whole GEP program entails. -

Definitely agree!!! :rahrah:
Well said!Jpeh:
Oh my… i just chanced on this thread. NO MAID IS BLISS!!! I'd rather put up with all the inconveniences than to have maids ever again!
Anyway, I used to cook but decided I'd rather spend more quality time with my family than to waste time in the kitchen cooking and washing. The money saved from hiring a maid can be used to have a sumptuous meal outside with the family. -
RE: Finding area of triangle - puzzled
Hmmm… simkhoo, thanks for the response. I think so.
Maybe the MOE show in the text book as 1/2 x base x height and the teachers just follow. So, yes, in theroy, the teacher is correct - MOE way because they dont see other variations
