:gloomy: Aiyo...today is such a wet & gloomy day!

Just recvd rejection email from RGS.. Scratching our heads why DD is rejected...DD is a mainstreamer, top gal in a neighbourhood sch, scoring above 90% since P1, has UNSW High distinctions & other awards, won at least two individual trophies for National Competiton in sports since P4. During the last interview with RGS, DD felt she had done her best & her classmate who was in the same interview as her, witnessed the interviewers being visibly impressed with DD & she congrats her for her superb eloquence & quick thinking. DD as usual in her humble self dismissed the praises.

šŸ˜„ Luckily, we hv set our eyes with NYGH ( of which a CO has already been recvd :rahrah: ) way before & there was just no deep sense of disappointment but full of WHYs huh? :?

Like Gleemom, my daughter is also in Sec 1 NYGH this year (Hi Gleemom, we talked on this forum last year if you remember....)

Like what Gleemom has shared, I have no regrets about choosing NYGH. My girl came in via CCA DSA and my husband and I found that NYGH provides fantastic support to this bunch of girls. They keep a close eye on them to make sure they are on par with the rest and if any is found to be falling behind, a remedial is organized for them.

We are glad to have our daughter in NYGH, the support system has been excellent ! šŸ˜„
Wah! After so much of good saying n the fantastic mdm heng, I hope my DD can get into this school, but her mt not strong n she is not taking higher chinese

      red dot:
i would standby SOTA requirements otherwise it will have a bunch of talented students in arts who are unable to complete their IB programme. Is that kind of students we want to produce in our School of the Arts ???

I would also like to highlight without some good PSLE score, it will be tough for the kids to do their IB programme.
I would think the t score is acceptable, rather the auditions should be solely base on their art forms, the rest of the selection test are trainable, don't u think so? The school suppose to teach, isn't it?

Got a phone call from RGS this afternoon that my dd got the CO (by CCA).

Wish all dsa applicants go to their dream schools.

      See you after PSLE.

My DD never get in. We are really disappointed but come to think of it, my dd's ballet skills may not be up to standard after all. So have to work really work to get to another better school. Sad is, she don't even qualify to be on waiting list. :frustrated:

      Hi Carmen,
Hv not receive yet, am I still hopeful?

I just called nygh today. No more Dsa positions available for my dd.. Sigh.. Didn't even get called for an interview.

The good news is, njc ability test results not yet out. So there's still chance for my dd. Furthermore, I heard non-gep students got equal chances with gep students too..I certainly hope this is true.

      Hi Cindy l

At least u have njc to wait, we gave up njc becos of nanyang as it falls on the same date. All the best to yr DD for njc!!!
