RE: Shichida Kindergarten
I have sent my girl to the course before & I really think it does not suit her. We felt it was $ wasted as she did not enjoy. She is in Nafa now & is enjoying it daily

You are a fortunate lady as u can do what you like and have a great hobby. I wish I can sew like u for my kids. Cheers upMy Dear, I do have my sobbing side!
I can tell u I was disliked by my father-in-law and the rest. Dun't ask me why? I also dun know leh! Is it bcos i'm too pretty/! Ha!Ha!Ha! Guess it's bcos most of them went to work after giving birth & I'm the only 'idle' one! or they jealous my hubby spoilt me rotten?! Wahhaha!:siao: (Pls forgive me! I'm nuts!!!)
Oh, Jap patchwork! Most of my themes are sweet and romantic prints! Sometimes, i made it as a gift or I sold it away as well as a sample to show it to my students, then they will be tempted to learn & i will be rich!! Hee! Hee! I sew & quilt every single projects by hand. I got the fabrics, zippers, laces everything from Jap. I do make quilts, bags, pouches, ..... I made my children pillowcases, bedspread, blankets, bags, pencil cases... whatever they asked for! They will choose the fabrics then i made them! In this way, my kids learnt to match colours. This helps when they are painting.
My hubby always nag this is a luxury hobby! Cos all the things I used, I got it from Jap! But to me, the satisfaction is there whenever I finished de project. -

mamatay, read one or two pages back. Quite a few parents of mainstreamers here received CO from RI and HCI.
Yes, I just saw. very happy for the kids - well done
It seems like those who got CO are all fm GEP and I have yet to hear anyone from mainstream getting CO --- really very sad time for parents like me ......anyway life still goes on -- Just have to Jia more You for PSLEmamatay:

I think the competition to get the \"top\" students have become keener the last few years and that is why you see the schools putting in more effort than the earlier years of DSA. I know of at least 4 GE and 1 mainstream boy on RI's waiting list last year that got CO when PSLE results were
released (their PSLE results were below RI's cutoff point). -

:congrats: to all who got CO or waiting list from RI and HCI !!
At least the wait is over and the kids can concentrate on PSLE starting tomorrow. Btw, i think many with CO from HCI (especially GEPers) will accept offers fr RI; so those on waiting list should have high hopes. Btw, anyone (Verykiasu2010 ?) know how many students are on waitlist #1 and waitlist #2 for HCI ? wonder if Ruyu receive any news ? he is so quiet these days....

Yes I am very sure. It's on the same week Tuesday before the Saturday camp. When you go online to accept the camp invitation, it will prompt you if you are going for the tea session, I did not attend as I am not free on the Tuesday afternoon. I guess you accept the camp invitation after Tuesday that's why it doesnt show.
[quote

Hi, I'm a student.livewith_vanilla:
Hi all,
Would like to check any parents have purchased BESTA Electronic dictionary for their kids in Primary school.
As my girl in P4 would like to buy one, hope to get some advise whether it is useful or not?
Thanks in advance.
Yv
I have the BESTA Electronic Dictionary, the one approved by MOE.
Generally the MOE approved ones covers the basic phrases and words.
Which model are you referring to?
the latest model CD668S. I think this model cannot be bring in during examination, but i'm looking for one that usage at home when need to find words in English or Chinese. Do u find BESTA dictionary useful to u so far?
the normal besta that the child uses for school exam is around $30 and u have to refer to MOE website for the approved version or u can get the creative brand - around same price
If u want the better Besta - with foreign languages, translation - I got one around $600+. It was very useful for a start - after a while, the child may stop using it and the info in them can be obtained fm internet -

Nafa is steep at around $1k for 4hrs but my girl comes home very happy daily and their Arts lesson is very creative. No native teachers other than for chinese and all have to do ballets (even for boys) but the chinese lesson is conducted so well that she can come home to share her new found knowledge[Moderator's Note: Threads merged.]
Dear kiasu parents,
Am checking this on behalf of a friend.
Could anyone recommend a good pre-school in Siglap area for half -day?
Holy Grace and Chiltern house and NAFA Kindergarten are full!
All inputs are appreciated.
Bethesda Frankel kindergarden is around $250 pm and is equally good -
