    • RE: Migration to AWS!!

      @ChiefKiasu said in Migration to AWS!!:

      The past 2 weeks have been horrendous to us. The vodien servers keep getting up and down and then the forum and portal became non-editable. We are forced to speed up the migration process which will start tomorrow on 5 July 2024 and hopefully everything will remain stable enough for us.

      As we are moving over to a new Forum, things will be a bit different. There will be quirks here and there. Your patience with us will be tested and we pray that we will get through most of the problems.

      May the Lord look after our programmers and ease the community into the new Portal and Forum!

      visiting after quite a while… totally lost now … how to do a search in the forum ah 😬

      The Ivan/Henry qn is similar to Q17 in PSLE 2015 paper.

      But it somehow still created a stir last year 🤔

      Can anyone help me with this question? Thank you

      At point D, angle ADC (90°) + angle ADC (reflex) = 360°

      In quadrilateral BCDA,
      angle DCB + angle CBA + angle BAD + angle ADC (reflex) = 360°
      ∴ angle DCB + angle CBA + angle BAD =90°

      angle BAD = 90° - 22° - 41° = 27°

      cheers.

      I know OB is 15 cm, but what is OQ?

      OC = (15-r) cm
      Sin (angle COQ) = sin 30° = 1/2

      Can continue ?

      cheers.

      Thank you
      Use right-angle triangle OCQ. Angle COQ= 30°

      I believe you can sort this out.

      cheers.

      Find the number of cubes per column on the 10cm x 10cm
      for 2 cm cubes, one column hold 5 X 5 = 25 cubes
      For 1 cm cubes, one column hods 10 X 10 = 100 cubes

      Let the number of columns for 2cm cube be \"u\" and 1cm cube be \"p\"
      25u + 100p = 700 ---(1)

      The number of column in constrained by 21cm. And each 2cm column takes 2cm and each 1cm column takes 1cm
      2u + 1p = 21cm
      p = 21 - 2u, Substitute p into (1)

      25u + 100 (21-2u) = 700
      25u + 2100-200u=700
      1400 = 175u
      u = 8

      Number of 2cm cubes = 25u = 25(8) = 200 cubes

      alternate method:
      since it is given that the entire volume is filled by the 1-cm and 2-cm cubes with no gaps, we can use the \"chicken and cow\" method or supposition method:

      total volume to fill = 21 cm x 10 cm x 10 cm = 2100 cm³

      if all are 1-cm cubes, volume filled --> 700 x 1 cm³ = 700 cm³

      difference in volume 1-cm and 2-cm cubes = 8 cm³ - 1cm³ = 7 cm³

      number of 2-cm cubes packed = (2100-700)/7 = 200

      cheers.

      TheSolver:
      ...No, can't do...

      No worries... you will not get such question in psle...such questions can solved easily using the difference of squares algebraic identity which is taught in sec 1 maths and primary MO.... with all the MO competitions and GATs done with now, concentrate on your psle prep, you can explore such questions during your spare/recreational time.

      Wishing you all the best in psle !

      cheers.
