Is it strict? Sch keeps mobile phones for the boys during lessons time, strictly enforced?
CHS seems not to be very strict with hp usuage? Or is it all the same in other sec sch? DS said that most of his classmates stayed in classrooms over recess and played hp games. -

Yes I got same observation when attending P1 reporting day of an atas Sec sch, looking at the pri sch uniforms 80% still coming from the few atas primary schools, the rest 20% 1-2 kittens from dunno which neighbourhood primary schools.
Last year, I looked at the sec 1 orientation name list of DD2’s school. The elite primary schools still take the lead in terms of numbers (by a far number).
Very sad to say, yes, although there were students from neighborhood primary schools, these schools were represented by only 1 or 2 pupils.
For Example, 1 from Yio Chu Kang Pri
1 from Northland Pri, 1 from Woodgrove Pri, 1 from LianHua Pri, 1 from Yew Tee Pri, 2 from Queenstown, 2 from Mee Toh etc. From more than 100 primary schools? Factual but It is how you interpret the data lah.
Can’t really tell how they entered, from DSA or via sec 1 postings.
So not only need to achieve all schools good schools at Sec, must start with all primary schs good schs first -
RE: COP 2019
I read somewhere “all the Teachers come from the same NIE”, reminds me of another famous quote “all schools are good schools”, but I always see somehow sons and daughters of famous people end up in a few schools only, and every year only a few schools are mentioned again and again when president scholars are announced yearly

My dd just happened to share with me that day.. for foreign Uni, they recognise the Raffles brand more than HCI or any other JCs from Singapore, she has no regrets choosing rgs over nygh even though she is effectively bilingual
Hi parents, has anyone facing a choice of choosing between RGS and NYGH? And how eventually RGS is chosen? My daughter is P5 this year, taking PSLE in 2020. Thanks! -

Those that do online will not need to make the trip to hand in hardcopy (can see why these are usually more efficient schs than others)
Regarding appeals, some schools only opening it tomorrow.
I know xinmin has an online form but most seem to be needing you to visit the school.
Appeal within same sch is easier for cases where student did not meet min cop, even sch admin says transfer within same sch makes it much easier for them to consider favourably
