ChiefKiasu:Phase ZERO is a good idea. You should also write to MOE for their consideration.Play nice, folks. Everyone is entitled to their preferred view of how things should work.
I'm proposing Phase ZERO mainly because I keep seeing many parents in Phase 2C being balloted out of the school that is right next to them. It's heart-rending. It makes little sense.

RE: Opinions of the Primary School Registration System
Rains, think about those parents sweat more than 80 hours or sometimes 100 hours for the school but ended up walk away disappointed. They contributed more than those sleeping alumni.

RE: Opinions of the Primary School Registration System
Admit the fact: Lots of alumni don’t contribute!!!
Even alumni now are complaining the high membership fee! See!! This is what we are talking about the rich use money to "buy" priority ticket. -
RE: Opinions of the Primary School Registration System
MOE officer told me there is no change in the rule this year. So no need to wish to hear anything surprise this coming National Day Rally. The Straits time reporter said we just have to keep posting and let the voice be heard.

RE: Opinions of the Primary School Registration System
I also discussed with The Straits time reporter yesterday, also understood that the alumni is also complaining because the "membership" fee is too high. Haha, so who is here talking about preventing the rich sneak into the loophole?? Phase 2A is also filled with those rich ma?? And the members only contribute when they need to register under phase 2A!!!

RE: Opinions of the Primary School Registration System
Saw today's newspaper? Talking about moving \"good\" school. Acutally government is doing it right? Moving principals and teachers. But again, after discussed with colleagues and friends, I realized that the fact is \"it's not about the name of the school, it's about who you are mixing with\". If that's the case, even moving the school out from the rich area, the new school within the rich zone will be popular eventually.

RE: Opinions of the Primary School Registration System
For those staying HDB, sure have schools with 1-2km. But some private estates, do not even have one primary school within 2km. So please be understanding towards these parents, u think they want to be in this situation, and if they are alum of one good school, they will sure use these phase 2A to apply. You can’t blame them.[/quote]
Not true! I stay in HDB flat, near fairfield but you know how hard is going to that school? Almost two fighting for one seat. And this school is my only choice as others are more than 2 km. -
RE: Opinions of the Primary School Registration System
In fact, we are not angry with the alumni living nearby. We just piss off with those stay faraway But occupied placed for those staying nearby. The rule should let those alumni staying more than 2km to have low priority.

RE: Opinions of the Primary School Registration System
MOE should stop those staying further than 2km to the school to apply. This will prevent distant travelling for the alumni and this will give more chances for those staying nearby.

RE: Opinions of the Primary School Registration System
Agree!! Totally. Now we need more voices to MOE. Hope more parents should stand out.
