Hi to all parents whom DD are in P1 this year.

Do you feel that they have quite a bit of home work to do every day?

Thinking of giving feedback to the teachers during the upcoming PTM.
Last week my DD was given tons of homework the day before her spelling and we were scrambling to finish the work and preparing for spelling.

Other than that I think my DD enjoys school.
This is fairly normal when my DD was in P1...even right to date....is home work day in day out....

But the worst thing is when she learn her spelling for next week or the same week, her teacher keep postponing it to 1-2 weeks later....well just let it be...really don't what to say.

    • RE: Buying uncompleted Condo-Questions on Payment

      1. Upon the Grant of Option to Purchase (Booking fee) - 5% - 10%(Cash only) of purchase price.

      2. Upon signing of the Sale & Purchase Agreement or within 8 weeks from the Option date - 20% less booking fee(CPF)

      3. Completion of foundation work (Start of loan payments) - 10%

      4. Completion of reinforced concrete framework of unit - 10%

      5. Completion of brick walls of unit - 5%

      6. Completion of roofing/ceiling of unit - 5%

      7. Completion of electrical wiring, internal plastering, plumbing and installation of door and window frames of unit - 5%

      8. Completion of car park, roads and drains serving the housing project - 5%

      9. Notice of Vacant Possession - 25%

      10. On Completion Date - 15%

The estimate TOP is usually at a later date so that Developer would not be penalised should there be any delays, usually the TOP will be earlier by a few months.

Once you have yr OTP, you should have in hand a banker list of whom you going to take a loan from in references to the packages & interest rate…etc ( this should be look into prior to your purchase to avoid any cash or CPF shortfall, the banker will be able to advised U on this. )

As for payment pls refers to the above. The banker will release the payment in % once they get the instruction from the lawyer when developer have reach certain stages of the developments.

Therefore, in the initial stage, U probably pay lesser & yr mortgage will increase according to the stages of the development till completion.

Just my 2 cents worth…hope is useful to U…cheers

Hi MrBean, do you know what is covered during FTGP? There was no information I can find fr the organiser and website.

I just check with my DD, she told me is something like interactive session where the teacher will tell them a part of the story and they have to continue the story by telling one another within a small group...

I guess this is part of it only....she also felt that it is sometime like speak & tell kind.... :slapshead:

Anyone can share why the Fri class they end late like at 3.30pm? Is it due to ECA to be conducted?

The weird thing in Kellock is our children do their CCA in the morning 8.45am-10.15am where I thought morning is good for studies as it is easier for them to absorb 1st thing in the morning. Anyway, it is just a normal extended session where our DD is doing her SS ( Social Study ) & FTGP ( form teacher guidance period ) follow by the Principal debrief...

Mr Bean, my dd was in P1 and 2 Acacia. Her form teacher was Mrs Gopal who is the S&D teacher. 🙂

She's also taking normal Chinese. Her Chinese CMI. Hai~ Thinking of sending her for Chinese enrichment classes. 😞

Kids_r_innocent, I have no idea on the higher Chinese allocation. Maybe another parent can enlighten us? 😛
My DD sama sama Chinese CMI too, but have improve lately bcos we gave a home tuition weekly. She was told to attend Chinese remedial but we decide to stop because remedial starts at 3pm & is a waste of time for her to wait from 1.30 - 3pm doing nothing. Haiz...

That's weird. My dd did. She even hurt her little finger while trying out for netball. She told me those who had potential would be given a letter.

I wanted her to try speech and drama too! But she prefer art club and got in. I guess cos ur dd already has a cca thus there's no need to go for trials? Art club is my dd's one and only cca.

Oh, she's in P3cherry. How about ur gal?
My gal is in P3 Angsana, she loves Art too but after discussion with her, we decided to select S&D. P1&2 my DD was in Jacaranda, how about yr girl? Is she taking Higher Chinese? Mine is normal Chinese...

      Maozai:
Pupils will go through a CCA trial during first two weeks of P3 to assess if they are suitable or has the potential for some of the niche CCAs. If they are chosen, they will be offered the CCA. Heard from my DD, she tried Tennis, Choir, Netball and I can't remember what else. Oh... and this year, they introduced Swimming as CCA too!

Is there such a trial? Have not heard of or did my DD go thru any trial at all. She is in P3 this yr....when through the CCA online selection only, selected 6 option & she got her 1st Choice for Speech & Drama. She is also involves in Tap Dance since P1...so we thought we should let her continue....
