I thought the session with FT on DS progress was a very good initiative. It provides good insight on how DS is doing in class.
The FT feedback that his result is not good (obviously
). Shared that it is common for some students to get use to the transition from primary to secondary. I had decided to put DS back into tuition to help him catch up. Had a good session with DS on how to improve his studies.
The FT also inform me that they will have similar session for term 2 henceforth. At leasat the school make an effort to communicate with parents. I like this idea.

blur boy:
From what I gathered from the 2 feedback, only the HCL and perhaps Physics are tough?? I hope it is a transition issue for my DS. Afterall it is the 1st time many of them come face to face with Physics and Bio...CuriousHippo:
According to my DS, the HCL-section A is really tough. He lost marks in Chemistry and Geography as he mentioned he did not answer the right key words that the teacher is looking for. For Maths, he lost marks due to carelessness. Physics and Biology have not given back.
Yes, i totally agree HCL section A is unfairly dificult.
Physics and bio have been returned-failed Physics, A1 for bio.
I also failed chem.
Will share more after the session with his teacher next week. -

Like to check with dear parents on how your child fair during the recent common test?
My DS did not do well and failed 3 subjects (Maths, Geography & Physics) on border line. He told me the papers were tough. Was it really that tough? Going to meet the teacher next week.. :imdrowning: -

Agree with beepo. As long as there are useful information discussed and exchanged, I think the forum served its purpose.

Tks Hippo

Heard from my DS he has a classmate that did not purchase the Mac. Not sure how is the school going to help him since it is required individually as part of the syllabus. -

RE: Maris Stella High School
Its worrying to hear there are high theft rates for Macbook in school. Since this is only required in term 3-4, that means they do not need to bring the Mac to school during this period?
