Any update on this school?

Discipline? Bullies? Gangsters?

What do you wanna know? I would be more than happy to answer.

This is one of our choices because of her score. And before i consider i whant to know
If they are strict?
Quite strict but depends how clever is the kid aviiding the DM ✌
How about for academics?
My DD score pretty well for prelims, she dropped a lot at sec 3 due to her CCA activity but the teachers are able to nurture her
Are teachers helpful/encouraging for those students need to cope?
YES
There are a lot of bullies?
So far never heard any during 4years of my DD in the school
Are the admin or teachers dont tolerate bullying or they do actions about it?
Bec my daughter experience bullying before
Thank you in advance
oh dear Janet.....so sorry to hear this!

Did he not qualify based on COP? Yes, pls be considered in your DAE application to the next poly. Wish you best of luck!

we chose courses with cop about 1-2 points above his score...yet it was unsuccessful. so now it is DAE...this boy really unlucky.

I did experienced this situation during secondary posting. Almost didn't get an express stream in neighbourhood school. Not unlucky lah, this experience would help him to walk his life. Understand better of the situation and the competition out there. Please support him well, I think deep inside he feels uncomfortable too. Afterall, we as parents, in the end could only support our children and they need to grow up and equip themselves to survive and conquer later part of their life. Jiayou Janet88, wish the DAE is a successful one. :xedfingers:

For those in strings ensemble, is it very tough for students with no background? And does it take very long before being allowed to play in the Main Orchestra?

I am concerned there is no physical activity. My son is v active!!
IMHO, if you DS is happy with it please support him. I didn't really know the qualification to perform in main orchestra but I refer to my DD, she has no music background and she is in chinese orchestra. We only knew she plays 1 instrument but when we came for the pre display, I just realized that she's been taught to play several instrument and she is ok playing them too. I think the TIC and instructor will guide yr DS according tonhis ability.

Mr Bean:

My DS appeal to neighbourhood JC.

I accompany him yesterday morning to appeal and this afternoon they gave him transfer form which my DS had to bring to posted school to acknowledge the transfer. He will be in the new school by Monday 🙂 Good luck for those who appeal too.

hi Mr Bean,

may we know roughly, how long was your son's interview ? half an hour or 1 hour ?

think if got called up for interview, means got chance

If the question for the quoted, My DS didn't do any interview. When he came to the general office and tell them his name, he was asked to fill the transfer form and explained the details of orientation.

• RE: Exemption from MT (Chinese)

IMHO, please don’t give up. She would ‘tune in’ somehow in future. Since the time is so limited, might try to get her exempted(if she is eligible). Getting exempted doesn’t means quit learning MT. She would continue learn in school and she could get extra tuition at home, but she will not do any MT exam. She would be able to concentrate on other subjects. CMIIW. Cheers…

• RE: To migrate or not?

These are choices for individual. Others opinions are just for our resources before deciding. BUT each person conditions and ability to adapt in a new place is different. Just consider well before making your decision.

I just would like to share, if we compare Singapore food prices with Indonesian, some of the food in Indonesia is more expensive. Eg. Mc D, the same meal cost more in Jakarta than in Singapore, and the quality of the Mc D there is really.......unbelievable (Considering they are a well known international brand). There are more to compare.....

Lots of people envy Singaporeans cause maybe they do not know the difficulties that some Singaporeans deal with but I live here and I knew the difficulties that they are facing, BUT I still envy you all. I feel that I am blessed that I have the opportunity living here though I did not get any priviledge from gov. Other than housing and car, almost everything here is easier to deal with and some are cheaper too.

Sometimes we see the grass of our neighbour is greener but when you look closer......gotcha..... It's made of 'plastic' 🤷

Cheers.........
