Hi YvonneC,
My son is in P1 this year at Kranji, so I think I can advise you on the buying of books. I didn't buy those optional stationery, you can buy it from elsewhere. Compulsory items must buy from school that's why is \"compulsory\".
Art Folio with Pink cover, Netting Bag, Pupil's Handbook are a must as well.
The only textbook you can consider not buying is perhaps Maths Textbook, my son didn't bring to school at all as his Maths teacher will project the textbook onto the screen, so the teacher tell them to leave the textbook at home. But then, it depends on who is the teacher, so perhaps you can ask the teacher when you are at the orientation.

I’m looking for a private school bus operator to fetch my son from Jurong West St. 81 to Kranji Primary School (Chua Chu Kangaroo). Starting 2 Jan 2014, one way in the morning, pick up time roughly 6.30am.
Pls SMS or call Mrs Lee at 92309036 if you or know anyone who can provide such service. Thank you. -

RE: Kranji Primary
Hihi,
I went to register my son at Kranji PS last week and I didn’t have a good feeling. I was the only applicant there at that time I went to register and yet the office staff took about 25 minutes to process my application. I was made to wait there, no one come out to explain the long waiting and the teachers manning the registration counter also didn’t bother to check with the office when they see me sitting there for so long. In the end, I had to went up to one of them and then he went in to help me check. And I also noticed that most of the teachers were dressing quite casually, most of them in t-shirts and sports pants. It was a Wednesday, so is that day their PE day?
I really hope that I am making a good choice for my son, he said he likes the school and I hope the not so good feeling be dispersed after I go to their orientation in November.
Any parents here wants to share their feeling of KPS with me? -

RE: [Choa Chu Kang] Primary Schools
I did not go down to register today, intend to do so only tomorrow, so is it that you are guaranteed a place so long as they still have vacancies? Dun need to wait till results day or what if is over applied? Will there be a balloting? :xedfingers:

RE: For Reference for P1 registration: MOE Official Letters

Subject: P1 Registration
Hi,
I am writing in to enquire the following for the purpose of Primary 1 registration.
\"From MOE website:
Proof of Purchase of Yet-to-be Completed Property
An original Sales and Purchase document is required if the address of a yet-to-be completed private property is used for registration. The date of commitment by the developer in the Temporary Occupation Permit (T.O.P.) has to be within two years of the child’s entry into Primary One. In the case of a yet-to-be completed HDB flat, the Agreement for Lease is required.
Parents must move into the new property within two years of the child’s entry into Primary One.\"
As I am getting a bank loan for the purchase of my Yet-to-be Completed Property, the original Sales and Purchase document is with the Bank for retention. Can I get a copy, certified true by the bank's lawyers, for submission of my proof of address for the P1 registration?
Appreciate your urgent reply please as the hotline to the P1 registration is really hard to get through.
Regards,
xxx
