    • RE: students common mistakes

It is not advisable to string long sentences together. Usually, there will be numerous structure errors and grammatical errors if your child does so. Unless your child is an expert in English, then that would be an exceptional.

    • RE: AGGR 240~260

Here is a list of schools you might want to consider.

1)CHIJ St.Nicholas Girls’ School (COP: 249) (Location: Ang Mo Kio)
2)Methodist Girls’ School (COP:253) (Location: Dover)
3)Anderson Secondary School* (COP:248)(Location: Ang Mo Kio)
*Anderson Secondary School is not a pure express school.

    • RE: Choosing a secondary school via internet

If your child’s PSLE aggregate falls above 199 points, it is not possible for him to go to the Normal Academic course. Therefore, it is not possible to have a mixture of Express and Normal Academic course. Express course are more encouragable to go for.

    • RE: Catholic High School

      Consider the following factors.

      1)Distance
      2)CCA Achievements
      3)Speciallization

1)As compared to Catholic High School, Victoria School is obviously much further.
      2) Depending on your child's CCA, you might want to choose between the two schools on which suits your child's CCA more.
      3) Victoria School is much of an English school. If your child is not good in English, I would encourage you to enrol him into Catholic High School.

Victoria School's cut-off point is 246 whereas Catholic High School's cut-off point is 249. You might want to consider this as one of the factors as well. Thanks. 😄

    • RE: 2009 DSA(Direct School Admission)

IP program is not equivalent to DSA. IP stands for Integrated Program which is a six-year course leading directly to GCE "A" levels exam without having to go through the GCE "O" levels exam. DSA is a program which allows you to appeal into a certain secondary school based on your child’s specific talents (provided that he/she have not met the cut-off point for the school). Only a few schools offer the IP program (i.e Raffles Institution, Hwa Chong Institution, Nanyang Girls’ High School, etc), whereas many schools offer the DSA program. You will have to call the school to find out if they offer the DSA program.

    • RE: local or international?

Hwa Chong Institution is better than its international school as most of the local students are studying there. It will be easier to get into a local university if you study in Hwa Chong Institution.

    • RE: A's or IB?

If i’m not wrong, IB (International Baccalureate) is better as it is worldwide recognised. But for GCE "A" levels, i’m not too sure.
