    • RE: Negative comment on P6 child from school teacher!

Thank for all the feedback and advises that I've received.

I'll take this opportunity to education my son and to understand him better in another way, when i meet up with the FT.

Yes, he needs to have a strong mind and the ability to withstand unfavourable feedback/comments and to improve from there.

Thank AppleCrumble and him4mixer, noted your points and well digested them.

I'm much more relief now... 🙂

yah… spoken to his tutors and student care teachers… positive feedback.

No issue with learning attitude and behavior. Volunteer to answer questions and clean up the classroom during free time (feedback from other teachers).

with me , he is fine unless he is tire else he is quite motivated to complete his work and ask for free time.

      Hi All,

Thank for responding to my post, very much appreciated.

Ds academic performance is like stock market since P1 ..moving ups and downs.

To my surprise, he top the class when he was in P4 and was streamed to a \"better\" class in P5.
P5 last year, he didn't do well and his form teacher (same teacher) told him with his P5 results he is not qualified to move on with her next year, which is now P6.

Ds felt sad and asked me if I can transfer him to his formal class. I was annoyed with the teacher's comment . In fact, DS P5 SA 2 was better then SA1, he improved :rahrah:
To me he needs time to adapt to the new learning environment and friends..

Ds dream Sec Sch cut-off point this year is 245 and he is willing to take up the challenge and to give it a try. But last Sunday, he told his tutor and myself, most probable he can't make his way to his dream Sec School after hearing his teacher's comment. :imdrowning:

I'm confuse with the role of a teacher .. thot they are there to motivate, encourage and support kids to achieve a better tomorrow ?

I can't hold myself any longer and i will be meeting her this Wednesday to have a discussion with her.

To conclude a sentence with Can and Can't is easy.To provide constructive feedback and solutions are tough but extremely important. :stupid:

      Hi,

I wish to hear from all parents, what/how should parents response when your P6 child told you that her form teacher commented "with your learning attitude and behaviour you would not be qualified for the Secondary School of your choice".

      Please advise
