Any parents with ADHD kids studying in sec school ? Are your kids coping well in sec ? My boy will start his sec 1 next year and was on concerta from P5 mid year to psle last paper. Wish to hear more about kids coping in sec without the help of med. Thanks.

This has been my bedtime reading last few weeks. Very interesting perspective. Seeing ADHD not as a disability but as a unique advantage in the way the always-buzzing brain works. Plenty of leaders capitalize on this (and their super high physical stamina & energy level) to brainstorm ideas & build startups. Then outsource the drudgery & paperwork aspect of the business to hirelings lol.

Yes, I read this book to understand more about my boy's condition. This book provides very interesting perspective about ADHD rather than the usual symptoms , solutions , how to tackle ADHD kind of read out there.

Would appreciated valuable feedbacks and recommendation regarding to the following schools. My boy score 225. We went to several open house over the week and this is the list we came up with.

1. Hai Sing 223 - has CCA that my boy is interested to join, Alp fit my boy’s learning interest.
2. Bowen 226- his friend is in the same sch, direct bus to sch.
3. Pei Hwa 224- hot school in Seng kang , 5 min bus ride.
4.Deyi 220- strict discipline , direct bus to school
5. Greendale 210 - 10mins direct bus to school, son like the relaxed environment there, interested in the ALP design tech and engineering
6. Compassvale 214- stem edu (sci,tech,engineering and maths ), fill up the 6 choices.

We went Hai sing Catholic school open house yesterday. We like what we saw during the open house. The school has a few CCA that my boy is interested in, we like the techs that is presented to us.


Before those we didn’t have any info about this school. Is this recommended ?

1st choice - missed cop by 1 point

2nd choice - above cop by 1 point
3rd choice - above cop by 5 points
4th to 6th - above cop by 11 to 15 points

Is it okay… anyway sec choices in sengkang are very limited with my boy‘s score .

Missed cop by 1 point. Is it possible to even try putting as 1st choice? Any advice?

Does anyone has a rough idea how is the dismissal time like?

I noticed some schools practice fixed dismissal time like 2.45pm except on CCA days
and some set very early dismissal days on certain day etc.
