RE: DSA 2024
@Pharmom
Thanks!So to sum up, the key benefit of DSA is that a student can leverage on the generic cut-off of 22 to get into G3 even though the specific school’s cut-off for G3 is 15?

RE: DSA 2024
@Pharmom
In your example, you are saying if a student (with DSA CO) with PSLE score of 23, he will be posted to Fuhua G2. I thought with a DSA CO, he would be eligible for G3?Otherwise, what is the benefit of a DSA CO?
Cuz the student can still go to Fuhua G2 with a score of 23 without a DSA CO, correct? -

I see I see. Ok that makes sense now.
I had initially thought he still need to get the respective posting group score in order to qualify which makes the DSA a bit redundant.Didnt see the PSLE score of AL 4 to 22 thingy. So I assume this is a common criteria across all schools? Where is this AL 4 to 22 posted?
Once again, thanks so much! -

Thanks. Understood your reply on Question 2.
But for Question 1, COP is based on the low end of the posting group range correct?
For example, if Posting Group 1 range is 20 to 25, the COP is 25.So if my kid score is 26, does it means he would not get into the school even with a DSA CO?
What is the advantage of DSA in this case?
Thanks for clarifying.

RE: DSA 2024
Hi
I received a confirmed offer. But I am confused about what they wrote:“Your child has a reserved place but subject to him achieving a PSLE score that qualifies him for a posting group offered by the school”.
Two questions:
-
If my kid can achieve a score that qualify him for the posting group in that school, wouldn’t it means he won’t need the DSA in the first place?
-
I also read in the Oct selection exercise, it says if your child has more than 1 offer, please indicate the choice of school in order of preference. If it is confirmed offer, wouldn’t it means just indicating the first choice is enough? Why would we need to put down second or third choices?
Appreciate if anyone can help to clarify.
Thanks in advance. -

RE: 2015 P1 Registration Exercise for 2016 In-Take
ChiefKiasu:
Hi Chief,
>1km from Corporation is certainly a difficult situation. If you are lucky, you get to ballot, otherwise no chance at all. Not very sure about Juying as there are hardly any parents from there who would talk about that school.RB55:
Hi Chief, my kid also got balloted out of Rulang. Would be in the same predicament.
I am in the 1-2km for Corporation, so it seems like danger zone. For Xingnan, its even out of 1-2km. Jialat! Only Boon Lay or Juying is relatively safe for now. Interesting, can I ask why is Juying so undersubscribed though its so near to Xingnan?
How about Pioneer? Is it within striking distance for you? Otherwise, you will have to contend with either Juying or Boon Lay. Did you put yourself on Rulang's waiting list?
Got into Xingnan without balloting! Was monitoring Corporation very closely but chicken out around 3pm when it became clear that balloting is required. Thanks for your advice! :salute:
Interestingly, it seems that there is this 'unofficial' phase that fall between 2Cs and 3?
Meaning for those (SC and PR) that still failed to get into a school by 2Cs, they can go directly to any school that still have vacancies and register before Phase 3 open? I called MoE but they couldn't give an affirmative reply.
Anyone with insights?
