Nook ST is more responsive and Kobo Touch fonts are more appealing.
Both have their strengths. I prefer the nook for the side buttons on top of the touch screen.

I have two devices, nook simple touch and Kobo touch.
I recently tried downloading and opening the ebooks borrowed from NLB on adobe digital editions app on PC, connecting the nook simple touch or Kobo touch to the pc, drag and drop the ebooks to the devices and they work.
There are some of these devices being sold on the carousell app. You may want to check it out.

Although the last post was about a year ago,
If anyone is interested in getting an ereader with text-to-speech, mp3 and a bigger than usual storage of 4GB, I have a few sets of Kindle Touch 3G model in good condition to let go.
I have used a set for a few months to download ebooks from amazon so far without the use of VPN.
