For me, it’s reliability. I have seen some parties where obviously the kids entertainer don’t love kids and going through the motion…
Yes, kids do enjoy magic shows and balloons! In fact, they love them. (Unless your kids are like 1-2 year old, then no, magic won’t work…)
For me, I always go back to Mr Bottle because of their reliability. You can really see the passion in providing for kids in them. There’s one occasion when I know Mr Bottle has to rush to another show but because of a kid’s request for balloon when he accidentally pop it, Mr Bottle unpack his things and made a balloon… he is not getting extra money for doing this… he just doing to make sure this kid leaves the party happy.
I have seen other parties with like mascots(young kids), science show (for older kids), cooking (at bakerzin), cookie decorations, theme parties, singing parties (where the kids actually record a CD at the end of the party!)… i will post more if I remember more and see more… I am a party-goer!

RE: All About Birthday Parties
My opinion is that chalet at downtown east tend to very small and hard to hold any activities, other than food or very basic decor. If you have entertainment, you have to have it outside (unless it’s very small party of less than 15kids) if you hold it outside,u have to share the entertainment with others or during evening time, it tends to be distracting with the crowd.
Another thing i don’t like is that they charge for guest entry. But advantage is that the pool, beach and theme park is near by so you can do those things.
Alternative places I suggest are:
Singapore flyer - only like $36per kid I think n guest get to
go 2 rotations, plus food n entertainment
bottle tree park - big place for kids to run ard
magaritas east coast - not much space but fantastic food, good for small
parties
Hort park- big space n very reasonable price
Dan ryans - american style n they can have back "room" for parties, they probably can provide free balloons. My kids jus love the train there. -

Hello reneemummy,
can i know what kindda entertainment they have for kids at grand copthorne? Thanks :)[/quote]
haha... I guess this reply is little slow.. didn't go to this post. Well, here's few updates:
- Tanglin tree restaurant has a pretty cool playground, tree house kind of thing...
- Hilton serves very good sunday brunch and has a very cool kids corners with very friendly entertainers (the last time I went, kids can make pizza, there's cartoon, and a superb balloonist.)
- Ritz Carlton has a playroom so adults can really eat in peace...
(But double check if they still have them cos it's a long time since I have been there)
- Market Plaza cafe (Raffles City) has very reasonably priced food and also a balloonist (balloons is enough to keep my girl occupied for a while!) but no kids corner though.
- Four seasons Hotel (again, haven't been there for a long time.) but I think there's a bouncy castle and some entertainment
- Sol Playground has a playground outside for the kids... -

Looks interesting. Are you from ministry of games? What kind of games do u play? Is it boardgame kind of games?
Do u have anything suitable for party of all ages? Are parents involved in them?
Thanks! -
RE: All About Birthday Parties
One thing abt holding parties at mac is the time! Yr guests will come abt 15min late and by the time everyone settled down, it’s not a lot of time left. Sometimes it’s made worse that the mac has back to back parties so once time is up they will start to chase u away! Haha… Their turnard time is abt 30min?
My advice is, at most get a short magic show to spice up the whole party a little! After all, the ppl at mac are not professionals so quality varies. Or maybe get some entertainment while the kids are eating like balloons.
For parents, their serve them their normal meals:burger, fries and drinks. They are there for their kids and usually has no special demands, at least this is how I feel.
Hope this helps! -
RE: All About Birthday Parties
I had almost the SAME experience. Mr Bottle’s was very patient in explaining all the items to me but I cannot say the same for mr popcorn.
Although Mr Bottle costs a little more, I don’t mind. I certainly don’t want to book someone who is nasty over the phone. I cannot imagine what he will do to my kids.
I am very happy with the party in the end and a lot of my guests had Mr bottle’s namecard too… -
RE: Science centre planeterium
you mean the omni-theatre? nice… should go definitely at least once but kids may get sea sick(??) sometimes…
science centre has this new exhibit about magic, very interactive, got free magic show too so I think it’s worth it! definitely must go… -
