I thought most schools don’t return and was pleasantly surprised that my daughter’s school does return.

Her school will have teacher’s remark broke down into several component telling us her strong points as well as her weaknesses. That helped.

I guess if schools are not revealing the score, they should do that so students at least will know what they need to work on.

      Awonder:
The value is do not give up easily and always believe in yourself. Amazingly, my child emerge much stronger than I thought. It's like ok, full stop, move on! It's me that feel heart arch! Well, my child did not agonizing over it and this had help me back to reality quickly. Very funny, during PSLE he also don't bother to talk about the paper after each exam and this had interm lesser my worry also. Resilence is the way.

      Thanks for sharing.
Jumping in here. Son did bad at P5 cause he didn't put in enough effort. I decided to let him \"die\" at P6, and was all prepared for the worst. Thankfully he stood up, and improved by P6 mid year, and even more by P6 Prelims. To me then, it was enough. I no longer bothered about PSLE. His lesson learnt, and he passed. And his capability was already proven, with or without PSLE.

Awonder, I see that your child has passed the \"unseen exam\" with flying colours too. He is stronger now, have faith in him, that he will do well with the further and bigger picture :), and his destiny has nothing to do with the PSLE T-score. :hugs:

(I have personally seen high T-scorer who fall, and low T-scorer who did good later in life. )

How was the JRIC last Friday ? Did any mommies (& daddies) use the tissues they brought along ?

You mean the PSLs led the Yr-1 boys into the Hall ? I recall, 3 years ago, the Yr-1s were already seated (by classes) in the Hall, when the parents arrived. And the parents were led to sit near to our boys' classes (1-2 rows in front). So, the parents were seated amongst the boys..

This year, it seems like the Yr-1 boys were seated in the middle, while the parents were seated by both sides, of the Hall (courtesy of janitor's photo πŸ˜„ )..

Did the boys perform the Rafflesian cheers & feet-stomping feat ? The awesome experience is still fresh in my mind, after 3 years. The thot of it makes me have goose bumps, even now..
I guess they changed the flow.

yup, parents seated at the side according to classes with empty seats for the Yr 1 in the middle.

Year 1s make their grand entrance, followed by staffs, and the programme went on.

And yes, they did do the cheers πŸ™‚

The beginning of \"From Ah Boy to Man\"? πŸ˜‚

well well, after a good night sleep, dug out some good stuffs about camp - food and PSLs. Son said food was better than his P5 camp time, and PSLs were nice. Oh, 1 more, form teacher is caring too. πŸ˜„

slowly slowly, I shall continue to dig

Else restfulmama will become stressfulmama.. πŸ˜‰

Did the Year-1 parents get to meet your boys' form teachers, before picking up your boys yesterday?

When DS was in Yr-1, parents got to meet & bond with each other in our boy's classrooms (yes, we played games too  ). DS's two form teachers were present too, for us to ask questions & clarify doubts..

After the meeting (about 1 hour), we went to the meet our ah-boys-to-men. For a moment, I couldn't recognize DS, as all the boys were wearing the same attire and looked quite similar, and all of them were as red as lobsters after being BBQed under the sun for 3 days! It was my younger boy who spotted his gor-gor first.. πŸ˜“

:rotflmao: :rotflmao: ya, must remember to be restful πŸ˜‚

Unfortunately I had to ask my friend to pick up son last night and couldn't be at school. Else would be great to connect w the rest.
