      Smiling,

I think Francoise & Esteème have given us very good examples of how we as parents should teach our children to be more considerate towards one another. Although we do not know each other but this forum really help us to gather many useful informations and in this case, it really make sense that parents sit down and discuss with your child and decide which CO to accept and which CO to reject asap so that the others under WL will have a better chance to be converted to CO soonest. Imagine if your child is the one waiting anxiously, you will be happy to know that one precious chance is given back to you if they choose to reject it early.

This is also a good time to show our children not to be selfish and hold on to many CO and only to reject it at the last minute giving others no chance to convert.

      Well said!!!

SINGAPORE - Five young Singaporeans were awarded the President's Scholarship on Wednesday (Aug 16) evening at the Istana.

They are Mr Lee Tat Wei, from Anglo-Chinese School (Independent), Ms Cheri Wee Jin Ting, from the School of the Arts, Singapore (Sota), Raffles Institution graduates Jasdeep Singh Hundal and Agatha Sacha Lim Lee, and Officer Cadet Lionel Oh Wei Hao from National Junior College.

The President's Scholarship is the most prestigious of all undergraduate awards given out by the Public Service Commission (PSC).

The recipients were picked by the Commission for their character, leadership potential and outstanding co-curricular and academic achievements. President's Scholarships have been awarded since 1966.

It's a fine line between being 'egoistic' & confident. Also gotta do with upbringing at home. I know of some Rafflesians who achieved a great deal & humble at the same time.

But I guess the more traditional & Chinese upbringings in HCI does instill some form of humility in the students. During my time, rumor had it that HCJC had the highest abortion rate.

Long time ago, heard it was Catholic JC.

aiyo rumor again. Try not to believe all these baseless stuff and label innocent students of the schools. I have know a really kuai CJC part-timer and nothing quite the way they say abt CJC girls getting preggie n stuff. Tsk! :lightrod:
