once they combine 2a2 all jumped to 2a1..then gone case liao..balloting starts.

actually not even balloting, priority is given to SC, then to 1km , then 1- 2km... so if staying more than few km away, no need to even ballot, places and priority all given to distance le...

Dun worry, no matter how many seats are reserved at these popular schools, pple will still maintain the balloting ratio at 1:3.

Phase 2A(2) pple may now either all join alumni, or be kiasu and join PV / grassroots too. So for schools with very limited PV numbers, parents may face an even tougher selection criteria and schools may even give bias to alumni to become PV... hope not... :sad:

for kids born 2009 onwards:-

phase 2a(2) will pay $$$, join 2a(1) alumni.
also join phase 2B - either via PV, or grassroot.
(as a safety net to try 2B again, in case balloted out of 2a(1)

plus also rent houses < 1 km (in case balloted out of 2a plus 2b, unluckily go all the way down to join 2C balloting)

Yes, too late already for next year registeration... we joined 2 years ago, phew....

absolutely! Hence there will be a mad rush to apply for alumni now.


Then 2a1 = 2a2… and 2a2 = zero chances.

But it is too late for next year cohort to apply for alumni already cause the criteria is must be an alumni as of 30 Jun 2013.

So we will probably see the alumni effect in P1 registeration 2015

Those in 2B are not connected lah, only privilege to go into P2B and subject to ballot too for v. popular sch. Connected means guaranteed in and only those in P1 to 2A (these are prior connections like siblings, alumni etc) are guaranteed. Be fair to 2B too since 2C's parents chose not to do anything mah.

many times its not 2c parents choose not to do anything, but because the PV criteria is more skewed to those parents who are not working and has the time to contribute to the school. Rulang's PV application this year is 200+ and only lucky 8 are selected. Hence not a sweeping statement that 2c parents choose not to do anything but they do not even have any opportunity to do anything. Disclaimer: I am not one of the disgruntled 200+ parents
