No.

RGPS ballot for SC > 2km is nothing special. If anything, it has the potential to ballot for SC between 1-2km. Chances are most 1-2km are just getting smarter to identify an opening at this particular school.

HWS is just par for the course. Given that there are plenty of places available at Stamford and Bendemeer, I don't see why people would be put-off by the balloting in HWS.

because stamford and bendeemer are really quite far off as compared to HWS if you are staying at Balastier-Whampoa / Boon Keng. Most likely the former 2 schools are the backup 2CS schools.

Far but not if you are staying on the other side of the expressway, over at McNair, Little India or Boon Keng. 1km is a radius.

Those staying at Whampoa are basically a captive audience. You have no real alternatives and no where to run to. Your only option is to ballot at HWS.

Thus, when you have one group with no where else to go, and another group who is happy to join in because their alternative is the same place they would have gone anyway if they have lost the ballot, you end up in this situation.
So the advice for us is don’t buy a house in Whampoa? (In prevention of needing to ballot?)

I guess if a decision is made to ballot in Phase 2C, one has to be prepared for the eventual outcome.
Based on history, will 2CS be more ‘peaceful’ than 2C or ‘worse’?
In 2C, it’s shocking how some schools can have applicants x3 - 5 more than available places for some heartland schools leading to many parents ending up in disappointment. Can’t remember which schools…
I remember one of the school is Southview primary school in Chua Chu Kang; vacancies in phase 2C=20; Number of applicants = 100+ Oversubscribed 5 times

Thought balloting at 2c are all SC?? I dun think there are PRs balloting at 2c..

Plenty of schools are balloting for PRs in Phase 2C. Some of them are probably thankful that SCs are not considering these schools.

Yes one example is Springdale primary school in Sengkang where the school ballot for Pr in phase 2c. If for example some sc parents didn’t go for fight at ncps at phase 2c. They would have secure the place at Springdale; and Pr will have 0 chance. So can’t just blame the Pr.

I've also just completed registration at school.
Overheard the admin lady asking 1 parent why she did not go for any earlier phases. This is the 1st time she is registering. Din know there could be parents like this :scratchhead:

Hi all, if I remember the phase 2c table correctly; the total people who apply for Mee Toh was 206 (not 177) vs 102 applicants. So the spillover is 104 and not 75. The number 177 within 1km is somebody went to ask the school. So the spillover is 177 from less than 1km and 29 was from 1km and over and could be pr also

Sis brenda, yes, correct, if total 177 if within 1km, but how u know is 177 within 1km? did moe updae such figure online?

not forgetting, there are 129pax overspill from Punggol Green…

also from Punggol Green area to Greendale will be more than 1KM away
