mahes_gopal:Be proud of him.. my niece with no learning difficulties scored only 188 few years ago and chose the express stream. Congrats to him!My son got 195 points. He got B C B. He is exempted from mother tongue. It may not be a very good mark for some of you but I am extremely proud of him. He got a chance to chose NA or Exp. Why am I proud of him? Because he has a learning difficulty and still managed to do this well. I know the amount of anixiety he was under before the exams. But he still made me proud. I am sure he will be model to other children with learning difficulties. We have decided to opt for NA in a school with good special needs support. All the best all 2010 students you have done your best.

heard from the grapevine that the mediacorp's artist's son did not get into NYPS under p2b.
Is it Zoe Tay you are referring to? I thought her son is registering next year? He was born in 2005. -

Thanks for the advice... But how do I go about doing that? :? Go knock on all the houses within 1km and ask:\" Uh.. Did you register your daughter for RGPS? \" .. Then gather a horde of them to go see the Principal...?? How did the previous person did it? Must be a hero..

Go earlier on the balloting day & start talking to the rest of the parents. I'm sure they share the same sentiments. -

Don't 'read' too much into palmistry. I don't think they play a significant part in how your life plays out. -

Hi Sassy, is there any good kindergarden or childcare nearby MGS?which one u send ur girl? wanna find one for my girl, she is in K1 this year n we will move there within 1km to MGS..
I wouldn't recommend my girl's kindergarten cos' their curriculum is not that impressive ever since they were bought over by a certain childcare group this year. I stayed put for convenience's sake as my girl has only a couple more months before she leaves the school for good.
You may want to try pre-school by the park at dunearn road. My gf sends her kid there and was really happy with their curriculum.
Good luck on your search! -

Not at all or I wouldn't have gone through the trauma of balloting. :lol:Hi,
I am wondering if my daughter is eligible to register under 2A2 if her brother is a student of ACS?
(cos the schools are kind of related isn't it?) :?

Not really. For Methodist, any child of any age can be baptized. The child can decide if they want to renew their faith after they turn 16 and this is also not compulsory.vicki:
Hi - Sorry i am curious. You mean for MGS, you need a church letter and not the kid's baptism cert? Sorry - not sure how Methodist church works. Txs.
The Methodist and most of Protestants do not practise infant baptism
Only when the child is old enough is make her own confession can she be baptised - that is what i understand. I may be wrong though -

One of the parents has to be a member of a Methodist church. My girl is baptised but they didn't ask to see her cert. About 1 month before primary 1 registration, I informed the church and they issued me a letter that stated the date I became a church member as well as my girl's particulars. I'm not sure if you have to be church member for at least 1 year before registration as I became a member back in the 90s.
The school only accepts original copy and it must be printed with the church letterhead. I was told that some parents who are not church members have tried to cheat by falsifying the document years ago. I think they will call up the church to verify again after you register. -

Yes, only if they score the minimum cut-off. Our 2 kids have inherited the \"if can idle, then must idle\" genes from us, i think i have to use the whip come P.S.L.E.
Yes, same here too. FACTORY is closed. The stress from coaching 2 in their studies is tough enough...but sassy is luckier in the sense that her son has an affiliated sec school to fall back on. My son in Pei Hwa doesn't have any affiliation
