Yup, i was within 1km, my guess is that is why the school didnt respond to my application for PV anyway. He is a tiger year baby, that may explain the chances. Sajs was quite popular so i was lucky. Now daughter… argh.
I see. You got your son in an all boys school? Then you will have to go through the headache again. Good luck! -

This breaks me out in cold sweat. The only one available for us in phase 2CS Would be xinghua.
In all likelihood, you will need a backup even if you are SC < 1km because the chances for balloting is very high, given the developments nearby. You will have to consider some of the other schools mentioned for Phase 2CS. -

Oh. Ok, when u say balloting happens for >1km, all the <1km get in first and the >1km will ballot for the number of vacancies left? This is also assuming all are SC first right? PR or foreigner who stay within 1km also do not fall into this category yet.
That's a perennial question. MOE never says if the applicants are all under a certain distance. But if balloting happens for those <1km, and given that schools normally call up those who have no chance to even enter the balloting before the last day of the submission, it is likely that most, if not all of those undergoing balloting are <1km.
If balloting happens >1km, then the number would include those <1km, so those who have to ballot will actually balloting under different odds.
Since Im within 1km I was thinking overall chances are pretty ok, except if the rooster baby girls decided to try for this school then we’re in trouble. Plus i have been trying to get to do PV for years already but they stopped it.
My last kid got into to his primary school because the school cut off at <1km SC so we avoided all balloting. I didnt have a plan B then and i also dont know what plan B I can have now.
Her dad was from nan hua, but with the new distancing rules for alumni also pointless to even try. -

Wow!! Thanks for the info! It’s very helpful. Seems like plan B is out. So when it says 110 applied for 81 slots, these 110 are a mixture of distances from school and that all within 1 km entered the school for 2022 (monkey year babies) ? 2017 birthrate was supposedly low, hopefully that is to my advantage then! I’m just putting my hope in this one. Cross fingers and pray!! :xedfingers:

RE: 2023 P1 Registration Exercise for 2024 In-take
Hi parents,
I am eyeing paya lebar methodist for my rooster girl in 2024. We are <1km to plmgs, as well as holy innocents. More inclined to PLMGS. So this will be under phase 2C. What are the chances for rooster year baby? And if it fails, my plan B will be holy innocents, but provided have vacancy. Any input?
Thank you! -
RE: Paya Lebar Methodist Girls
I am about to move to just within 1 km of PLMGS, one more block and it’s 1-2km. Daughter going to P1 in 2024. I just checked and we are also within 1km of holy innocents, but we prefer PLMGS because it is in line with our family’s religion.
Plmgs doesnt accept parent volunteer anymore.
I cant seem to find the balloting information for 2023 intake. Anyone knows what are the likely chances? Should i look at recent years trend or balloting trend for the same chinese zodiac yr… because i know dragon year always have balloting for instance. I need to make a plan B -
RE: Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) Updates
Hi all,
Need your 2 cents…
Son, 12+ yrs, took 2 PD dose a year ago, caught covid last yr. We received reminder for booster for him but havent taken him for it yet, or maybe not since now no regulation to. Almost gonna be a year since his last vaccine. The booster will be the adult dose. To take or not to take.
Any data on bivalent jab for youth?
Younger child 5+, took first PD dose last yr, trying to drag a little longer before next dose; haven’t considered her booster yet. Her PD did advise before to wait for bivalent jab for second dose but Im not sure if they have that in PD dose. She never had covid.
I’m just thinking if can avoid then just avoid potential side effects that come along with vaccines, esp one with short historic data -
