      SG_KP1\" post_id=\"2117870\" time=\"1693443141\" user_id=\"188234:

First, the risk of doing the above is either high or negligible, depending on the circumstances. If your second choice is an AL13-AL14 COP school, you aren't really risking much, as you will likely still get in (all AL12s come before AL13s, regardless of choice order). In contrast, if your second choice is an AL12 school the risk is higher, as you will be second choice instead of first choice.

Second, the school selection process is tricker under AL (than it was under t-score). Last year, several schools moved from AL(X) to AL (X +1/2/3). There may have been few people at AL(X+1) willing to \"waste a choice,\" so when there were spots available there was a void and the COP moved higher (and what looks like a lot). IMO, many of the movements (upward) were likely due to last year's small cohort size (which reverses somewhat, but not fully this year).

In the end, any particular school's COP can move +/- for a variety of reasons. It kind of depends what you want and what you are willing to risk...
Thanks for the advice...ya i saw last year COP was +/- quite a bit.

I have a question hope you can help:

If PSLE score is AL12 for example, can student apply for sec 1 posting for school with AL10 cut off point? What are the chances of getting in?
