Parent volunteering is not meant only for well qualified parents. The school has full rights to select whom they want.

just borrowing this thread to say something
lots of time many parents / drivers are very self-centred, everything is I, me, myself, without realising, and refusing to recognise, the problems and inconvenience they cause to others; but is quick to complain and raise the hell when they are inconvenienced.

HI starlight and silverhorse
i wrote a letter to the teacher explaining that we will have to take Wed off. imagine my shock when my son came back and relate to me that the teacher said " i’m sorry, you can’t!"
this is utterly shocking! he is my son and i can’t decide??? i’m in a dilemma now, not because of the school- now i couldn;t care a damn about them; it’s my family and i’m not in control, not you!!! my fear is my son will bear the brunt when he comes back. will the teacher scold him; shame him; blame him? sigh!![/quote]
I think it’s better to either call or email the FT to clarify.
My girl (P1) and her cousin (P6) is in Rulang.
Her cousin applied to excuse herself from school from today till 30/1 (Mon) w/o any problem… so I think it could be a misunderstanding. -

Condolences to the family… can’t even start to imagine the pain the families are experiencing now.

RE: Rulang Primary
Rulang's hard work has finally paid off... kudos to the teachers and students!
In the coming years it'll have to put in double effort to maintain the standard.
Cheers! :rahrah: -

I reckon this is a tough question to answer...Hi,
My wife's primary school is Rulang Primary School. We plan to send our kids there starting 2014. Does she need to be a Alumuni member (paid membership) in order to stand a guaranteed chance ? Or current status is good enough ?
Please advise. TIA.
My DD successfully enrolled in Rulang (P1 2012) based on her mum as an ex-student and nothing else... but having said that, it very much depend on the number of ex-student parent vs vacancies at the point of time (2014), or any possible policy changes by MOE.
My 2 cents...
