      Hi Jill and AC,

I've heard that P2 needs to select a CCA before 2nd semester and if not they will be slotted into any available CCAs. Is it true?
My girl has not selected her CCA yet. She is thinkng of joining Netball or Art Club, any advice?

      Hi AC and laochyehu,

Glad to have both of you around.

      laochyehu,

Which class is your boy in? Mine is in 1E.

      AC,

Since your boy is in AMKPS for 5 years, can you share your experience being a AMKPS parent?

    • RE: Use of Vocabulary in Compositions

      mrswongtuition:

You can correct her & make her repeat the proper sentence to you. Most children who have this problem due to lack of exposure. You can also buy those CD-ROMs that read out the story to them with words/pictures for them to follow. It's interesting & they'll be exposed to proper english.

For writing you'll need to encourage her to write often. Reading does help in both oral & written english. As I've suggested in this thread before, make your child read aloud to you πŸ™‚
      Hi mrswongtution,

      Thanks for the reply.
Do you teach Lower primary english and which area is convenient for you?

      Hi mrswongtution,

My P1 girl has a problem in expressing herself in verbal and written.
For example, she will talk in pieces and furthermore in singlish.
Have tried to correct her in most of the times but don’t think it will work for long term. Is there anything that I can do to help her?

      Hi phankao,

Currently, my K2 son is having 30 mins Chinese lesson daily. As for spelling, they are done weekly. And on Fridays, there will be sentence writing and story reading for home revision.

      Hi Smiley

Great to hear fm u & thnks for the info! am beginning to make some headway now. my girl luv performances so this is gd news too !

I understand fm the kindy dat each class there r 24 students to a teacher. sounds pretty handful for a teacher u think ? πŸ˜“ cos my girl's current kindy has 1 teacher + assistant to 24 students.
      Hi DotingMum,

From my past experiences, there will be an assistance helping out for Nursery and K1 classes. As for K2, the class will be fully taken care by the subject teacher.

      Hi DotingMum,

My K2 son is currently in Bethesda and dd graduated from there too.
Basically to us, Bethesda has helped them in academically. Most importantly, teachers are responsive and principal is \"on\" too.

Children will be exposed to stage performances as there will be twice performances for each year, namely Easter Day and Graduation Ceremony.

You can also refer to the web for further details.

      HangHang:

My son is coming to 4 years old next month. He has been in playschool in ireland. Foreign education is very different compared to singapore. They emphasis on creativity and playing. It is very relax. We will be moving back to singapore next month. Shall i enroll him in N2?
      Hi HangHang,

Hope I'm not too late. Another alternative is Bethesda (AMK) Kindergarten situated at Ang Mo Kio Ave 4. It has Nursery for 4yrs old. And the school fees are pretty reasonable. Teachers there are responsive.
