No offence to anyone but I think we have to be very careful about getting private tutors from agencies. tutoring dyslexic students is not the same as tutoring normal students.

My private tutor I got or my child has a specialist qualification and I checked with the parents of his other students before I engaged him.fortunately I made the right choice and got a perfect fit for my son. he is able to click with the tutor and is progressing just fine.

why not you try a private Occupational therapist or educational therapist? I know of a good one who does one to one and he has helped my son. There's no harm trying , a lot of these eipic schools are short of staff and employed inexperienced or foreign personnel. well i helped my friend get a specialist trained tutor for her child who is very slow in reading and numeracy. I was lucky when my son got diagnosed with dyslexia in 2012 I managed to get this specialist tutor He is registered with the govt MOH to help children with various difficulties or conditions. One thing I like about him is he is focused on helping my son understand the exam questions and techniques on how to learn maths. he also helps out with science and english the technique is to get help early. dont wait till last minute. my email is stalba66@gmail.com

My son's tutor is very good. He is also teaching my friend's son who has ADHD. the boy seems calmer now and more focused. According to my frien, the school teacher says there is significant improvement. The boy seems more willing to work.
