star11:If the results are like last 2 yrs, the cut off should not change much. The new IP schools may have a cutoff around 255 i guess. Not sure abt tjc. I wonder if the no appeal rule imposed last yr will affect the cutoff

RE: Compare RGS vs NYGH
musette:
I am sure the teachers at NY are good and caring. So are teachers at RGS. Both are good schools. One is a SAP school other is not. As simple as that. If you prefer a SAP school, go for NYGH.Had been reading through this thread and the individual RGS and NYGH threads. No nearer to coming to a decision.
Is that right? My dd wants to go RGS and DH and I want her to go NYGH, but we don't want to force her. Spoke to my friend whose dd is in sec 1 NYGH this year. She said she can tell me with great certainty that the teachers in NY are very good and caring. -

Is she from NYPS?
The cut-off for Nanyangprimary school girls is even lower. You will be posted in the PSLE posting exercise itself. This girl was from other school.star11:
During my time (i was born in mid 70s), The PSLE cut off point for RGS was ALWAYS higher than NYGH. It's the no. 1 girl's school. So I was quite surprised when I read that for last year, NYGH's COP was the highest. Seems like there's a shift?
last year my friend with a dd who had a score of 252 got into NYGH a day after the PSLE postings were released. No sports dsa.just based on psle score. -

My neighbor's DD reports the same. As for RGS, I am bit sad to read about one forum letter from the Straits Time regarding the teachers's sarcastic remarks to students . Just hope that was isolated case.
Isolated case.. Most teachers are very approachable.
I meant \"in that sense\". Having KS parents, it's not necessarily bad thing, as long as parents know when to draw a line. There seems a correlation between how KS the parents are and how well the child perform in school. :roll:ruohoo97:

U mean more kaisu = better ?? :scratchhead:
It seems to me RGS's parents are more involved in their dd's school than those of NYGH's.
Hope that will prompt more NYGH parents to share :boogie: . -
