    • RE: H2 Math or H2 Physics?

Agreed that H2 Math probably easier than H2 Physics. So have advised DD to take that..

      happymum123:
Pls consider H2 maths as it is equally tough as physics but I think understanding maths is still easier so long you have the interest. H2 maths opens up more choices.

PCEM is a very common combo if the student is good in both physics and chem.

      mistymum:
what about H2 Maths, H2 Chemistry and H2 Physics ? I just heard from someone that this combo is tough. I thot this is a common combo for science student.

    • RE: H2 Math or H2 Physics?

Thanks for replying. I think H2 Math is probably the best choice then. Taking both H2 Math and H2 Physics is impossible for her. She will be struggling… may be with even 1 H2 Math.

    • RE: H2 Math or H2 Physics?

DD is interested in this combi : H2 Economic, Lit, Math and H1 Physics. But heard H2 Math is very tough. So should she change to H2 Physics and take H1 Math instead?

Her A math and Physics both scored B3 in O level. If she takes this combi, what courses can she take in Uni?

      Appreciate any reply.

    • RE: * Anderson Serangoon JC (ASRJC)

      Dear all

DD got 10 points. We are looking at going to SRJC as this would be the nearest JC. Anyone has any comments on this school regarding the school culture, environment or teachers? This school has an entry point of 11 last year and looks like it’s doing well. Would be best if there is current or past students from this JC can advise us.

      Thanks

      Maple leaf:
I am preparing DS to accept the truth that he will probably received the white envelop.I am worried that he will breakdown a d cry if he receive the smaller envelope.

I explained to him the reasons:
First, he has did not attempt 15 questions.
Secondly, he has to score higher than 3,500 of the participants.

He says he is not sure he will shed a few tears or not. But I hope my briefing each day before the release of the result will prevent him from getting to traumatize with the outcome.
Tell your DS he is still very good since he has got through the screening test. My DS is more worried about her SA results. She has forgotten about the GEP test that she sat for few weeks ago. LOL.

I only got to know today that P2 kids will be streamed this yr. (hmm..ok I am a little laid back as when I double confirmed with some mothers, they already know mid yr).

Anyone knows how they will be streamed? Assuming its top 1-3 in one class but I was told there should be 3 \"top\" class each level, how about the other 2 classes?

Can I know from parents who has kid/s was/were previously from \"top\" class in P3, generally how's the school work? Was it stressful? lots of homework? Faster pace etc?

      Thanks for sharing.
I think the top 3 clssses are P3/7, 3/6 and 3/5 in this order. And the workload is for sure heavier than other classes. Even the chinese oral passages that teacher had given to the students to practice at home are also of a higher level than other classes, was told by my DD's teacher. They will expect more from the kids.

Having said that but I would still think the children can still cope in P3.

would you like to share why you would have this reaction of \"TKPS...OMG\"?

      J2mum:
      Simkhoo,

I like your way. This way the kids will be responsible of their own results instead of relying parents to revise with them for the exam. Thanks for sharing.
seriously at P3, I don't think kids at this age are mature enough to understand the importance of exam, acquiring knowledge or preparing for exam. As parents, we have to prompt them to remember to study, check if they need help or have they encountered any tough questions. Most of the time, if they were asked to do their own revisions, they will do it in a very short time and tell you they are done. When we hear these, I guess we will test them a few questions if they really done their revisions. I would think that the approach to let kids revised on their own for their exam is more for older kids like P5 or P6. At least mine at P3 still need me to remind her to study the text book, do some assessment and revising with her on weekends as I am working mummy.
