Hi, anyone know the breakdown for Bukit View Primary? Is the ballot for SC within 1km? MOE website updated 45 vacancy, 47 registered. I'm helping my friend to ask. Thanks 🙂

getting a reliable maid is like striking lottery. if you get a maid, then your kids may have lunch to eat and your housework can be done. but headache is whether the maid is reliable. it's never easy for FTWMs.

Yes, it is all depends on LUCK !! :xedfingers:

I’m in the dilemma not sure to hire a maid or not.

My situation is like that: I’m a full time working mum, I have 2 kids, first DD (6) and second son (4) currently at full day childcare. My working hour is 7:30am to 5pm, my daily routine is after work rush to buy food and cook for them. I only allow myself to buy outside food for them maximum 2 times per week (mon-fri). By the time we finish dinner will be about 8+ and I’ll coach my girl on her homework. They go to bed at 930pm and I start doing some light housework from 9:30pm. I’m a light sleeper, usually I sleep at 1am. My husband usually be home about 8-9pm, so he will play with the kids awhile till they go to bed and help me with some housework.

My problem now: My DD will be starting P1 next year at TKPS. It is an afternoon session and need school bus to ferry her to school. I’m headache about morning session nobody take care of her. Should I get a maid or look for a student care? So far I only found 1 student care which charge at 500/month for AM session and the student care not sure if the school bus will fetch her from the student care because TKPS will be temporary held at Bedok due to renovation for the next 2 years. My girl will feel very tired if i send her there early morning and she wont have any afternoon nap as the class conducted in the afternoon. If I get a maid, I’m thinking to transfer my boy to PAP kindergarden in the morning and be home afternoon. The maid can take care my girl in the morning, vice versa. At least the maid is looking after one kid morning and afternoon, she can help me to do housework and I’ll be home to cook immediately after I reach home and coach my kid homework. Other concern will be I’m not comfortable to have a stranger to stay with me. Provided the maid is good, if not I’m like looking after another baby at home. Any parent encounter this kind of situation before? Would appreciate your advises.

Personally, I feel that it works only if the maid is good.

Don't worry about kid being tired, they will get used to it. As far as I understand, the kids do allocated time to do homework and revision in student care. Your girl can sleep early and do her homework and revision in the morning instead. I have friends using student care and are happy with the arrangement.

Thanks Coolkidsrock2!!! I think i shall try to put her at student care first. Getting a good maid is so difficult nowadays. 🙂

Do you notice something? we sound like MOE? :rotflmao:

KSP is better than MOE...bcos KSP gives advice what to do before and after each phase. The next steps to take which MOE doesn't provide. That's why even PM knows about this site.

      Totally agreed! :udawoman: :udaman:
