    • RE: All about asthma

Asthma is an autoimmune problem. Just modulate the immune system naturally and the kids will recover in 3- 6 months, tops.

Quite a few of my friends have all done that. It’s easier than you think.

    • RE: Eczema problems, Allergy & Rashes...Solutions...

Eczema affects 1 in 5 in Singapore. It's common and yet modern medical science can't find a cure for it.

I have a friend who used to dread lifting the blanket of her son every morning, because it will be stained with spots of dried blood, from the previous night's scratching. Then she would wash the blankets daily, as dried blood is difficult to wash off. Of course, she found the solution and the problem is behind them now.

The reason why eczema is so hard to deal with is Because the problem is INSIDE the body. In Dec’14, a team led by researchers at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (http://www.mountsinai.org) has proven that eczema is an immune-driven (autoimmune) disease.

This means that it is NOT a skin disease - it happens when the body immune system sends the wrong signal and attack itself - the skin cells.

My hubby works in a local government hospital. We realise today all eczema medication treats the skin and therefore can only alleviate the problem. They can't solve it.

The proof is simple : Steroids are given for severe cases and you will see fast relief. But do you know why doctor prescribe steriods with great caution? Because steriods is used to suppress the child's immune system - its a quick fix to temporarily tame the immune system. This validates the researcher's finding that that it is an immune system problem! If you speak to a doctor with an eczema child, he won't give his child steroid too, he knows that the immune system is the only system you rely on to fight free radicals, viruses, bacteria and cancer. How would he want to lower immune system? yet modern medical sciences still is unable to correct the wrong signal sent by immune system. Medicine could only treat the symtons - which are all the itching, inflamations etc. Some of you may have children who suddenly develope eczema, or know adults who develop at a certain stage of their life. That happens when immune system was compromised at that stage of their life.

So the solution is really very simple - Correct the immune system to fight eczema on its own. It is capable if you help it along.

One way is to use wash and wear comfortable negative ions clothings from Japan (60 yrs history), our friends' children got rid of their eczema for good within 3 - 6 months. The negative ions correct the signalling of the immune system. And there is absolutely no side effects. No eating, drinking or cream needed. Just wear to sleep and wake up to good skin. It's really the simplest way to beat eczema.

If you are interested, pls contact me with your email. Will send you more info and pictures of our friends' eczema cases.

Don't worry! It is so simple to get rid of eczema, if you know the right way.

      Cheers,

      hi Montessori parents / potential,

my son attended Montessori when he was young and I believe that it has helped increase his capacity in Maths n literacy, helping him eventually to enter an IP school.
Now onto another issue…we are doing a research project. Do u or u know someone struggling Wif kids Wif asthma or bronchitis? we r selecting a family to sponsor the treatment of permanent cure thru negative ions clothing. No ingestion or inhalation. Just comfortable clothings that will show results in 6-8 months. if you know someone or r keen yrself, please PM me asap.
It will be the best Christmas gift.

    • RE: Anglo-Chinese School (Independent)

My DS spent too much time online and did not manage to get a 6 for Chem or Maths for mid-yr exam this year (IP Y4). It’s a wake-up call for him and he is looking for extra help. Thinking of Raffles Trust Learning Centre run by Dr Chan. Anyone with comments on this centre? Will be greatly appreciated!

      Hi Autolycus,

Do you know the percentage of IB students with HL Chem in ACSI? School has issued circular to say they will strictly not entertain any appeals for Y4 who wants to do HL Chem but does not get at least a 6.
In the past, even grade 5 get to do HL Chem and they fared well eventually with a 6 or 7 for IB. It appears that school is reducing the places for HL Chem? I wonder why.

      Hi everyone,

I am helping my DS prepare for his O level CL in June. He is currently in IP ACSI but its a MOE requirement to pass CL. He is very bad in compo, and I figure the shortest route to getting him to pass is to memorise some model essays that can be tweaked to fit a variety of personal account topics. Are there any suggestions for model compo? Tks a mil!
Sorry, does anyone has model compo topic to recommend?

Snow Crystal: hi, am glad to be back too!

      1. Very few drop out; fewer than 5 each batch, generally.
      2. The most common reason is general weakness — poor academic performance, most often caused by habitual slackness which isn't rectified in time.
      3. They don't have difficulties adjusting at all, since the O-level track is more concrete to most of them.
      4. Heh, a lot of them are in Medicine; some are in things like Aerospace Engineering or Computing/Computer Science. A lot end up in the black arts — business, economics, finance, accountancy. They span a varied range, all the way from hardcore science to fullblown aesthetics or humanities.
      Hi Autolycus,

I have read all your advice and think IB is a wonderful syllubus - but not every bright kid will benefit from it.

Some friends have shared with me their kid's IB experience...The IB expects a lot of writing, not just in the humanities but also in the Science subjects. For e.g instead of reporting on a science experience and focus on getting the steps right, the IB syllubus expects students to write a 30-4 page report.
At the IB 'oral' test, the candidate gets to select an envelope from the examiner, open it and gets a couple of minutes to think about the theme. Then talk enough about the theme to impress the examiner. A friend has 2 kids - the daughter is outgoing and can 'talk an eskimo into buying a fridge'. She fareed well in IB. Her son - who is excellent in Science & Maths, enjoys doing papers, good in language (get the point across efficiently but not to the extent of having to write more to impress) find it a struggle. I have another friend whose son is in Year 5 IB now. Good in Maths & Science. English - not a problem at all but just don't enjoy writing to impress. He found it tough going. It is no wonder parents are constantly asking about whether IB is more suitable for the humanities student. The parent think the boy should have taken the A level route.

So we really have to know our kids to help them make the right decision.
