I have friend son who went VS saying they need to have at least 200. NYGH also. Called DHS and confirmed this. DHS need child to have a score that is National average which they cannot tell us now. It's base on that year's cohort.

At first that lady on the line told me based on the year cohort too. Then I explained it’s DSA confirmed offer and not entering by Tscore. She finally got it, told me to hold the line for a few min while she checked. Finally, it is confirmed 200.

meaning she is not sure as well.

They are all MOE schools, they have to follow MOE guideline. The school clerks or admin managers may not have full information on the works of DSA and they will tell you 200, because this is the clear Tscore for Express. But following MOE guidelines, as long as you are offered a choice for Express stream, and you have a Confirmed Offer you will be accepted to the school - provided you choose Express stream as your choice. Based on that year's cohort - as the minimum for choice of Express or Normal may start at 188 in some years or 189 in others.

Please call MOE to check, not hearsay from the school clerks or some students etc.
Better check w respective sch the express stream.eligibility criteria for CO to be converted. 5 years back, a boy I knew got VS CO rescinded bc he scored lower than 200.

Vs yes need 200 min but best is to check again.

      Thanks for the clarification.

Yes. It depends which school your child applied. Some schools still want to maintain a minimum score which differs from PSLE entry requirements.
I wonder why.

These schools are all MOE schools, they have to follow MOE rules and regulations.

      I wish is confirmation 😉😁
      Is for Chinese Orchestra audition

Haha - not heard of DHS giving direct offer for CO (this shd be under CCA, right? not music programme). They look at academic performance and not just the CCA performance, from what I have observed.

Yes. They are very stringent on entry requirements. Need to meet certain academic grades before consider for audition. And also have to hit certain marks in PSLE eventhough theres confirmation letter. Anyone heard of this also?
I can confirm with you that this is not true.

As long as CO is offered, the school has to take you as long as you qualify for (or able to choose) express stream. This means scoring of 188 and above.

I have especially called the MOE as well as ex-P of DHS to ask on this point.

I’m surprised that there is 0 non-affiliated girls heading to plmgs sec. Every year, there will be some high-performing plmgs primary girls transferring out to sec school like Dunman High, CHIJ St Nicholas, Anderson Sec etc based on personal friends’ experience so it is indeed strange that plmgs sec is not taking in non-affiliated pupils. Why ?

I got the info feom school's website. And I called the school up. Was told this situation happened before.

Fairfield Methodist does not take non-affiliated students for the NA track as well.

PLMGS is not accepting non-affiliated girls. They accept their own affiliated girls at 212.

wah ! PLMGS become a \"shut-off\" school to outside students, do not let any outside student to come in for Secondary.
That means at 212 onwards, the affliated pupils occupied 100 percent occupancy in her Secondary

I thought MOE announced that from 2019 sec 1 intake (means this year PSLE) schools with affiliation need to set aside 20% for non-affiliated pupils? So PLMSG should have a non-affiliated COP for this year PSLE?
not from this year. I cannot remember but most likely from 2021 onwards. Wonder if DSA kids will be counted towards the 20% or not though.

PSLE results were released today. I shared in Aug of my son's failed DSA application to HCI and RI - not even a WL. Just wanted to motivate applicants in future that it is not the end and don't be too disappointed.

Work hard and your kids can still walk into the same school with his/her PSLE results. I have seen it in my son today. All the best!
      Congrats!

Husband is very unhappy with child’s results. She is already feeling very upset and he scolded her twice, saying her grades are her own fault. Then blame me for not coaching her well enough even though I took two months’ leave to coach her daily. Now both child and I have no lunch. 😞

      :hugs:

Its just one exams. there are a few more that she can prove her worth. Don't cry over it. cheer up, and go for a nice dinner.
