RE: Scholarships - University
Hi titank, was on this subject with a US friend. He said that you must gain admission first then apply for the scholarship. It will be based on household income like for MIT US$60K you get full tuition fee, aoive US$60K below $XXXK, you get 50% of the tuition fee and so forth. But must not be very popular courses like Med, Law, etc. Every uni is different, check with them directly.

RE: NUS / NTU medicine application 2018/2019
Hi can someone advise me on this matter. DC accepted a course and scholarship from NTU last year. He is still in NS and is thinking of applying to LKC next year. Can he apply? Will NTU cancel his previous acceptance and scholarship when he applies?

Usually if there is no reply by this time, it probably means not successful. DC is in round 2 already.

RE: Should I study medicine?
Is $480K really enough? I heard its around $800K all in Australia, Melbourne un. Can someone with actual experience advise with the details?
jtoh:
$80k x 6 should be $480k?
My friend’s daughter on path to study 6-years medicine course (bachelor) in Australia has to fork out about $80k a year (including lodgings and food), so total = $$240k.mommyNg:
$13k per year at SUTD = $45.5K (approx)
$46K per year at Duke-NUS = $184K
Total = $229K -

This is base on JC recommendation. Usually for those few who are really outstanding in academics and CCA leadership.

RE: Should I study medicine?
I came across an interesting article in Digital Senior about ROI of uni courses recently. Nursing and Computer science have the highest ROI while Dentistry the lowest. You may want to google and have a read. Quite interesting.
