      Hi

Am thinking of purchasing uniforms for Sec 1 earlier as may not be in town in the last week of December. I saw both JeepSing n Shanghai uniforms sell CCHM Uniforms via Google search. Buying from either vendor will be ok? Also do the students typically wear PE attire most days? So will one full set of uniform shirt suffice and more PE tees and bermudas?
      Thanks for advice!

Thanks for all the sharing. So it’s a definite no for correction tape so we better wean them off in the next few months. The kids are so used to writing in gel pens so will stick to it since it’s not explicitly stated that it’s not allowed. Think there will be significant difference in writing speed if I get him to change to ballpoint now.

Thanks for the suggestions for the extra calculator and change of batteries!

Hi jus read the psle exam booklet. Just want to understand a few things

      1. only ballpoint pens allowed. I believe many students are using gel pens e.g. sarasa etc. You think these will be allowed?

      2. Correction tape not encouraged. But if need be, still can bring and use? Understand from my child that his teacher was specific in not allowing use for Chinese composition, but he was allowed to use for other mid year papers.

      3. Do you all bring extra batteries or bring extra calculator for maths? I realised his calculator model battery is not easily replaceable. Yet to try. (Casio)

      Hi all,

My DS is very interested to try to DSA into CCHM Chinese orchestra this year as he wants to continue his CCA. Based on Pri 5 results…He is probably a 220-230 score range, but unfortunately dropped Higher MT last year. Will anyone with child in Chinese orchestra or even anyone who DSA through performing arts or orchestra be able to share experience on interview etc?

      Hi

May I know if any one has tried DSA for Chung Cheng High Main or Victoria Chinese Orchestra? Able to share the process and what to prep for?
And if successful, can share your DS DD background for reference? Thanks!!

      Hi

Thinking if getting a few key assessment books to help my child.
He is weak in CL composition and CL oral and would like him to read more model compositions. And practise on oral conversations. Any recommendations on any books to check out at Popular?

    • RE: Chinese Orchestra DSA

      Hi parents

I have been reading about DSA experiences but thought if any parent can share specifically for Chinese Orchestra DSA. My son is very interested in his instrument and would like to apply to Sec schs in the East (e.g. Dunman, Anglican, Chung Cheng, Victoria etc) to continue his CCA. Unfortunately, his academic is not so strong (70-80 marks on average).
Just want to understand how to increase his chances in getting DSA offer?
Other than SYF participation, is it a must to get NAFA graded certification for the instrument? He has not taken any exams as it will involve additional private tuition with his CO teacher which we do not have time to ferry him to/fro.
Hoping that parents with successful experience can share more to help us along.
