For avoidance of doubt, the only way parents can be in Phase 2A(1) is that

a) They must be former students of the school AND they must join the school's Alumni for at least a year before the Registration exercise.

This means that even if the school's Alumni association accepts non-ex-student members, it does not mean that these members will be given Phase 2A(1) priority, since they are NOT former students. This is why your report card is still so important to prove your affiliation with the school as part of the registration procedures.

b) The parent is in the school's board or management committee.

Hence, parents who get Phase 2A(2) priority by virtue of their elder children's registration in those schools will have no realistic way of getting Phase 2A(1) priority. Unless, of course, they manage to become a board member of the school.

SCGS is also a full school and many other schools, SNGS is not the only full school in Singapore.

SCGS intake comparable (200 vs 210). Why is SNGS the only full school that is oversubscribed in 2A(1)? What could be the explanation?

Definitely not the norm, significant deviation from the statistical norm. Where did these alumni come from??
I also wonder... :scratchhead:

I don't think MOE will remove PR kids in Phase 1.... if they do it will affect all the schools in Singapore... just because 1 school need to ballot at phase 2A1 it certainly doesn't justify the call for tweak...

That's where you're wrong !

definitely NOT because of 1 miserable CHIJ St Nicholas primary school entering 2A1 balloting, then propose for removal of all PR children, from Phase 1.

referring to the above example on the seats or let's just call it \"X\" number of seats (whatever X is the number)

these X number of seats that are freed (free up) by the PR children from Phase 1 : can be added onto Phase 2A1 or 2A2 or 2B or 2C, that are meant for Sg citizen children, to enrol.

don't Phase 2B or 2C need to ballot, in popular hot schools ?

whatever vacancies that are left unconsumed : will be brought forward into the next Phase, be it 2A2 or 2B or 2C ?

by getting PR kids out of (Phase 1, Phase 2A1 And Phase 2A2) :-
this help to free up places meant for Sg children, make more vacancies available for 2B, 2C, particularly in schools that require balloting

do you see the picture now ?
(why I say is not just bec of one miserable St Nic entering into 2A1 balloting )

I still don't get it... st nick is a full sch... in that case isn't it more realistic to restrict the secondary school alumni to register for Phase 2A instead? PR parents also go thru balloting in later phase to get in...so u can't deprived of their rights for phase 1...

Just my thoughts... there's no right or wrong...

PRs pay taxes, but once their kids get into popular schools, they will enjoy phase 1 subsequently.

If many seats are taken up at phase 1, then those from phase 2A onwards will have lesser vacancies. So even with 40 seats reserved for 2B/C, there will be keen competition.

Now that 2A1 balloting arise in St Nicholas, however, there are still some PR children inside 2016 Primary 1 intake, because they had enrolled, via Phase 1 (sibling).
because Phase 1 : no need to ballot, everyone can enter.

These PR children inside Phase 1 are occupying the precious seats, meant for Sg citizen children.

(for example)

Suppose there are 5 PR children, inside Phase 1.

How many seats is St Nic shortage now, in 2A1 balloting ?
97 - 92 = 5

now, fellow Singaporean not enough seats
if can remove these 5 PR children from Phase 1 :
then, tomorrow (Thur : 9 July) 2A1 no need to ballot, anymore.
All these 5 SC children can enter back into St Nic alma mater, without any 2A1 balloting, involved.

Therefore, it is High time for MOE to tweak P1 Registration rule, tweak for Phase 1 (sibling) !
remove all PR children, inside Phase 1

I don't think MOE will remove PR kids in Phase 1.... if they do it will affect all the schools in Singapore... just because 1 school need to ballot at phase 2A1 it certainly doesn't justify the call for tweak...
Hi, I am newbie here.

How is the enrolment to Swastika?

Easy or diffcult?
What is their requirement or request?

what do you mean by requirement?
All registration phase requirement are on MOE website

Thank weyw,

Am i right to say Parent Volunteer will be get higher chance to be selected in Swastika?
No, PV will not get higher chance in the registration process. All PVs will be under phase 2B, which also comprised of grassroots leaders who are eligible in this phase. Applicants subject to balloting will not have privilages. All schools to follow MOE standard procedures.

Pls refer http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissi ... on/phases/

Quote
\"Singapore Citizens (SCs) will be given absolute priority over Singapore Permanent Residents (PRs) when balloting is necessary in a specific phase. SCs and PRs will continue to be eligible for the same phases, and all applicants will be admitted if the total number of applications in any phase does not exceed the number of vacancies. However, if the number of applications exceeds the number of vacancies in a specific phase, SCs will be admitted first ahead of PRs, before home-school distance is considered.\"
