Thank you for the feedback. I’m relieved to hear that the kids there are quite disciplined. Your positive comments triggered my memory and I recall that when I visited SSP, I was told by one of the staff that many of the teachers teaching at SSP try to enrol their children into SSP as well. In addition, normally after one sibling enters, the parents will also place the younger sibling(s) in there.

From what I deduce, NYGH has done their calculations and based on past trends, they know how many WLs to offer such that historically, 100% of the WLs would be converted to COs. This is with exception of year 2014, whereby the number of COs rejected was less than the number of WLs offered.

NYGH WL is as good as a CO. My DD had a WL last year and like what Mdm Heng would have mentioned at the briefing, based on past 11 year records, all WL traditionally would be converted to a CO, except for Year 2014.

My child has been offered a place in Singapore Sports School in 2018. I am writing to ask for advice on what the student culture of Sports School is like and how I can support her as a parent. Are the students there playful and addicted to phone games or are they serious and conscientious in their work. NYGH WL has track record of converting to CO. A WL there is as good as a CO.

Yes, you will lose your affiliation if you place it as 2nd choice.
