My boy got a CO for Infocomm to HCI, but eventually, he give up as RI math WL converted into CO. He chose RI because of the distance.
Hi, anyone DSA Infocomms/Robotics & successfully got CO to HCI? Please share your DS's portfolio - CCA, academic & Robotics competition etc. Is there any selection test, to perform any specific task? If yes, what was involved in the selection test? Also what are some of the interview questions being asked? Was is group or 1-to-1 interview? Tia for kind parents sharing.
He learned Scratch, Python, and C++. Finished 200+ questions in codebreakers, and win a few MO awards plus an HCIC award. Forget to mention, we shared 200 C++ code files when asked to provide supporting documents.
The interview is a group interview of 2 teachers and 3 pupils. They are asked to do 2 logic & programming problems within 30 mins. -

RI Math is the most competitive one along all DSA schools, domains. They might only take 20+math and 10+scince.
Thanks for sharing. Very well deserved. Congrats once again.
Just wondering whether anybody not in IMSO but with Gold in NMOS, SPSO received CO from RI in Math or Science domain?
For a ref, my boy has 2 SMOPS platinum, gold NMOS, siler RSO, D in RIPWMC. AL level 6-7. The possible reason that he only get a WL instead of a CO:
1. Only D in RIPMWC, no 2round. For RI, RIPWMC might take the most weight.
2. He did not manage to get top 30 in all these MOs.
Hope these benchmark info helps DSA applicants for next year. -

Very deserved CO, these top math awards are amazing.
Thank u both... DS is in mainstream, sch results consistently around AL8 or so, weak in languages but strong in math and science. Based on psle grades, he probably would not make it into RI.
He has platinum for SMOPS, gold for NMOS, HD for RIPMWC and gold for IMSO.
He says the DSA selection test and interview went well. For the interview, he was the one who spoke the least in the group of 3. However, he was asked to prove something math related on the spot and managed to do so. He is generally quite reserved but cheerful. Hope this helps. -

Thanks for your prompt reply.
Hihi, we didn't apply to HCI for DS. We applied to ACSI, NUSH and RI.
If you put RI math WL as ur first choice, he will be auto posted to RI if a vacancy is available. It will not affect the CO to HCI.
Sorry, i thought your boy also applied HCI as you have a comment on HCI WL. -
RE: DSA 2022
Get checked email, boy get RI math WL, not sure the chance it can be converted. any parent can share?
Interestingly, my boy get HCI infocomm CO, RI Math WL.
Noticed Shortribs’ boy is otherwise, HCL WL, RI Math CO.
But anyway, congs to both as both are good schools.
If we put RI Math WL as 1st option, will it affect the 2nd option of HCI CO? Thanks. -

He self-learned python and C++, practiced on Leetcode, Codebreakers, Mr Judge, Google kickstart.
Thanks for sharing.
Do you mind sharing your son's portfolio? Was he in school infocomm or did well in any coding/robotics competitions?
All the best to his PSLE too!
He attended HCI HCIC and got a platinum.
He was from a neighborhood school, but won few top math medals.
