She also informed me she spotted her name on the locker and have used her padlock.

hi ryes, my dd didn't tell me about needing to bring padlock, neither was there any note from the teacher.
was the lock supplied by the school or do i need to get one for my dd?

cold comfort to all who are confused with what’s going on, but in a way i’m glad i wasn’t the only one to feel this way.

but am trying to stay positive that it’s only p1 and beginning of the year, and hence there is still time to have things ironed out.
my dd came home with two stacks of worksheets yesterday and said they have to be handed back on monday. i am just taking her word for it and getting her to complete all within the next few days.
with regard to the tingxie, the dates are as what ninja indicated. looks like it’s every fortnight starting with 14 jan (but different classes might be different).
my question is are they tested on the words or the hanyu pinyin or both? my dd says the words but another mother told us it’s hanyu pinyin…
i also have no idea what happened to the text/exercise books that are now missing from her bag…

So parents can go inside the school on first day??

Very blur now.
hi all,
belated Christmas greetings!
don't worry, bluemoon, you're not alone. my dd is starting next week and i am also not sure what to expect. the missus wants to go inside on day 1 too but i recall at the orientation that the principal did say no because there will be older girls paired up with our darlings to help out.
am more concerned with:
- my daughter is still not good at counting money and speaking up in front of strangers: worried that she can't order stuff during recess;
- she is very slow in doing things (like a princess literally) so am worried she would not be able to finish her food during her recess;
- her bag is very heavy when loaded and she is of a small frame.

praying she will be able to cope... 🙏

Hi mummy ea

I'm going to reg tomorrow 2c sup.
hoping no need to ballot.
been reading your posts since phase 2 and know you have been fairly stressed by this whole registration process.
all the best!
Hi,

Can someone advise me when will I actually receive the letter fr sch stating my child has successfully register in the sch? I reg him in phases 2c and all SC get in. Tks

Should be by today or tomorrow, probably delayed by the long weekend.

I didn't get a letter at all. Called up the school yesterday and they said just bring the pink slip they gave me after the ballotting...hmmm...
that's odd, i received mine before the long weekend..

Hi ylkoon,

This is roughly what the girls will be occupied with:

•Basic Care - meals, bath and rest
•Supervised study
•Character building activities
•Fitness sessions
•Enrichment activities

You can collect the detailed programme from them directly at the school as well as the fees structure.

Looking forward to meeting everyone at Orientation 😄
thanks, goldpiggy!

Just for all parents' info:

There are 35 vacancies for P1 under the YMCA after-school care at SMPS next year. Currently there are 30 places left. We decided to register our dd as we were advised to not wait till orientation day because the trend has always been that it will have very few vacancies left by then.
thanks for the headsup, goldpiggy.
could you share what activities the after-school care provides to keep the girls occupied?
