Regarding the admission to year 3 in RI, how many students do they typically admit a year? How difficult is the admission process?

Does anyone have an idea as to how many boys get admitted yearly into ACS (I)'s IP from the O level track in year 3? Mostly from ACS(I) or are there some from other schools too?

    • RE: IP vs O level

Does anyone here have any insights into O level track students making the transition to IP at the end of Year 2? Are grades still the main criteria? Are there many cases of this happening in schools like SJI and ACSI?

Which yr is your kid in? I also thought they take same exam in sec 1. Could be for better transition. May start to divert from sec 2. Depends on sch i guess.
SJI. For Year 1, both tracks indeed take the same paper. May be different from Year 2, that I don't know.

Of course CANNOT MIX lah !
Where got mix (IP + O-level) students altogether ?

      Why ?

      Because

The Exam papers for IP vs. O-level track, are totally different !

      How to mix ?

Each unique curriculum track of course has its own, different Top 10% cohort mah !

Only one subject is common to both track : Higher Chinese. The rest, totally different
That is not true. In my son’ school, the IP and OP students take the exact same paper. Hence my question.

For the ESIS (yearly award), does top 10% of cohort include both the IP and O level track students? If so, then the recipients will be predominantly those from the IP track.

Does anyone know how many boys from the O level program transferred into the IP program in year 3 in recent years? For those who have successfully transferred, what is the typical range of year 1 grades ?

May I know roughly many boys are successful in moving from the O level program to the IP track every year? How many from ACSI and how many non-ACSI boys?

Maybe can you tell us where did those balloted out AL 8 students eventually go to? Coz later a well groomed mum might come in and said why short change themselves go school with cop more than 8. Wasted.... Cxxxx SXXX groom their girls differently(For boys Vxxxxxxx, Cxxxxxxx, Sxx etc) ....cannot compare other non IP schools imo.
Some of them end up in the O level track of the same schools. But my point is if you just meet the IP COP for these schools, you might as well assume that you won’t get it unless you’re very lucky.
