I would like to seek some advice from you on what type of Lower Sec Assessment books would be good for my boy, as I understand every school uses a different textbook for Lower Sec. My boy just started Sec 1. He is very poor in expressing his answers at times especially so in open ended questions. He tends to repeat his points and thus lose marks when he was in P6. I would like to build up his foundation well from sec 1 onwards again. His school uses “Marshall Cavendish Lower Secondary Science Matters Vol A” for Sec 1. However, we did a lot of PSLE Qn spotting and he eventually got an A for PSLE which shocked me. I suspect it’s a low A. I know Sec 1 CL gonna be difficult for sure. I would like to cultivate his interest in CL, I know it’s hard. But I hope to build up the foundation. What else do you advise besides getting a good assessment book/s?
