      No,
      because

now up to this year 2024, the final, last batch of students exiting under current \"90 RP\", there is No Automatic conversion of your weakest, most badly performed #4 H2 subject, into an H1 subject, to re-base back to \"70 RP\". If u happen to take 4 H2 subjects under \"90 RP\" rule, then just simply add up your Total 4 H2, to compute your RP. That's all
wrong lah! slmkhoo is right. our kids went through the 90RP system.

when eating in london, just eat if you have the budget. don’t bother calculating, converting and comparing with sg$. else end up will not eat anything.

house sharing fr 2nd year onwards may not necessarily be cheaper, if you add in other costs.

Cannot be too high bar...... That's saying 50% of A level kids cannot make it to university. The PW bar, will be something like the MT bar, I assume. Pass can liao.
Food for thought: Did everyone pass MT? Is MT a easy subject?
So, is PW going to be easier since it is just a pass/fail?

Another comment from minister that i don't quite understand. He says 'The content of most of Singapore’s A-Level syllabuses is already similar or narrower than the international syllabuses used as benchmarks for comparison'..

so he does not think or agree that Singapore A levels papers are tougher than UK based ones? Or maybe he means content similar, but never mention standard of papers.
He is saying don't expect the content of A level syllabuses to be reduced. we take out PW is very good already. we may also increase the content because ours is \"narrower\".

Every new education minister that comes in want to make some new changes.

Not sure who introduced PW, but I understand PW was introduced because the A level system lacks the research/project component that is present in IB. I have to say that the PW generally is a failure because it did not reap the intended benefits, hence the need to remove it from the computation of RP.

With a pass/fail grade for PW, i expect the passing criteria to be rewritten to ensure that the students do some decent work.

Over the years, each change made to the SG educational system just makes things harder, never easier. Do away with mid year exams? Introduce more bite-size assessment. No exams in the first year, dump all the exam content on you eventually.

Waiting to see how this will pan out though i will have no more stake.

😆 boy you hit the nail on the head!!
So eventually, they still want all kids to go through the motion. But fair enough, at least no need to grade/count it in some narrow metrics.

I once also thought to myself, we will never get rid of PSLE or SG A levels to adopt the IB or other exams, otherwise what do we do with all the SEAB folks? Then again, isn't it good we have a ready pool of teachers/curriculum specialists to redeploy to schools to reduce class sizes?
The pass/fail grade for PW is still useless. Can fail PW meh? Unless the student totally bochup.

They finally realised that PW is useless but no gumption to remove it totally. Because removing the PW will render all the PW teachers useless.

On one hand want to emulate the project/research aspect of IB, on the other hand don't have the expertise to do it for every subject. So create a PW .... 🤷

I thought shoes need white or black.
      Socks white I thought.
Blue or green shoes allowed? Thanks.
no restrictions on shoes and socks, even pre-covid. i've been washing black / pink / etc etc socks. 😂
Also recently when i brought the kid to buy shoes, i asked if there is any colour requirements. So confirmed no.
Do the white/black shoes apply to the Y1-4? Y5-6 rules are more lax. I think rather than trying to \"fight\" the y5-6 on shoes/socks, time and effort better spent on other matter.
