vaguely remembered it was not 100% pass. you can call the school to ask.
see this link from YS's website, seemed like the results has been going downstream....: http://www.yangzhengpri.moe.edu.sg/cos/o.x?c=/wbn/pagetree&func=view&rid=19963

YZ 2011’s PSLE score of 264 was lower than 2010’s 267. Highest 2011 national score was 283. Was told that the school concentrated on some selected ‘bright can score kids’ esp from 6A to excel. Can u believe that some kids from 6B scored between 200 to 220? what happened to those kids from the 6C or even 6G?

Actually it is not compulsory to purchase those basic stationary w 'YZPS' on them. Only recommended but not cheaper or better. Bought some journal books last year but hv not used since. The textbooks sold by the vendor are cheaper than popular discounted price. Hence decided to get from the sch. The difference can be more than $1 for some of the books.
I only went to my older boy's sch to purchase books when he is Pri 1 n the rest of the years, he got the school exercise books n school t-shirt himself. Text books passed down from cousin or bought from popular .
One thing I noted is there is a lot stuff including the shoes n even stationery like drawing block also printed with school name. This make it difficult for parents to purchase the items from outside the school. -

we wish. if it’s in the booklist, means ‘please buy.’…
Dear YSPS administrator, does 2012 P2 books use new MOE syllabus different from the 2011 P2? If so, then the donated books which will be collected from the current year pupils in Nov cannot be used at all. Please help to clarify. Thanks! -

guess need to buy as we need to buy for the current P1 social studies book (which seemed to be different from next year's P1).Re the booklist, I have a question that I hope YZPS can shed more light on:
For the item (under the subject social studies),
'Social Studies Small Readers P1 (6 titles)',
are they supposed to be purchased by the students/parents? Or are they supposed to be purchased by MOE and given free to the schools to be used in classes?
Thanks! -
RE: Blindfold reading....Anyone heard of this?
sounds scary… then why are parents willing to spend close to $1.5k for a 2 day workshop?
From the Genius Mind Academy website, it lists the benefits of the program:
Quote "Benefits from GMA Workshops
Improves memory : learn more in shorter time
Improves concentration : more receptive
Improves creativity : more innovative
Improves sports : more talented
Balance hormone : more healthy
Balance use of right and left brain : balance character" unquote
so are all these false claims also?
would really love to hear from parents who have sent their kids to this particular program. -

Got my girl a pair of black school shoe from Bata last year when the book shop did not have her size. Bata's shoes are pretty good, it can last till now. Plan to get a new pair from the book shop after this Sept holiday. Are the new shoes better than before?BTW, not sure how many parents have kids already in YZPS now. The black sch shoes this year are crappy, and broke only 3 mth after use. The sch told parents through the regular letters that the book shop will bring in stock to exchange for the broken ones, but the book shop apparently was quite reluctant to do so when the stock finally arrived a month ago.
We managed to get a pair changed for DD, and sch was unwilling to change a bigger size one... Think might leave for DS if it's too tight for DD...
Anyone still has the old broken shoes should still try to get them changed. -

Hi, how abt we hear some feedback from those parents whose child attended the Genius Mind Academy (GMC) say more than a year ago (this is to see if the effect lasts…)? What are the positive and negatives changes you have seen in your child since? It is supposed to last a lifetime. Are you glad that you have sent your child to attend this midbrain activation workshop?
Also, what happens when your child is not blindfolded, most of the time? -
