Yes - filed the GIA report. The issue now is since the 2 reports differ- usually how does it go forward in a third party claim? Workshop cannot start repair unless authorisation given .

If it is clear-cut, then workshops who are experienced with claims will confidently begin the repair first, and help you with the claims later - without authorisation even.

        Irrelevant:

If you opt for (a), the workshop can immediately start the repair. You may also rent a replacement car while the vehicle is being repaired. The insurance company / workshop will also engage a lawyer for you to pursue the claims. Meanwhile, you will have to bear your own excess first. It may take the lawyer up to 6 months or more to \"settle\" the case. My not so hardworking lawyer took 6 months. I was also \"compensated\" an additional $800 for loss of use, over and above the replacement car rental.
You are fortunate. Once my car was kissed at the back, and it is now 4 yr still no news... although I did not pay a cent for the repair. The workshop did it for me, confident that it can make a successful claim against the other car. I was promised loss of use of $50 per day but it never/hasn't come...
I suspect the lawyer and workshop pocketed all the payout they got from the other car's insurer eventually.

Some consolation that others have been in the same boat too.

Since the damage is along the full rear of the car, it is pretty obvious that it is hit from the rear. There are lessons learnt from this incident. If the person apologizes also after a motor incident - never trust.Tomorrow he/she can cook up a story!!
Third party has kind of accepted in this case.
Hopefully by end of the day-it is settled.
Photos from different angles -the key to prove your point.

my colleague showed me a clip of how a Fortuner tried to run him off his lane by cutting into his lane TWICE, the second time even after he had given way!!

With the clip, everything was clear…how the other car ‘shoulder charged’ his…and most important, the car plate was captured!!!

Not sure if he made a complaint to the TP after that.

The roads - for that matter, maybe the whole world - are full of bullies and crooks.

I’m sure you’ve heard that some years back there were talks of some unscrupulous workshops will have thugs create accidents on the expressways by braking abruptly, forcing the car behind to follow suit. The thugs then quickly accelerate again and disappear, and there is a very good chance that on an expressway, even if the car immediately behind managed to brake in time, the 2nd or 3rd or any other cars behind them might not, and therefore might knock onto the stopped car in front, which might in turn be pushed forward to hit the car in front, causing chain collision.

Then miraculously within seconds or minutes there will be workshop tow trucks showing up asking the affected drivers to engage their service to tow the vehicles for repair, file claims, etc.
