all I want is a continuous updation from the class teacher too. If mrs.Ong can why can't others? They are expecting us to support the school so to do that we need supporting teachers too

      Hi Plum-cake,

Yes, that what i need but don't understand why the different.... :?

Continuous updation is very important for parents (esp working mum - trying to reach a very busy teacher but unable to do so (even thru email) unless kept calling....) and we can also understand and try to cater or response to both the school and our dds needs ......

actually, to be on the fair side. Teachers are really, really overloaded these days. Mrs Ong is a rare gem for her dedication. I wish there could be more help for the teachers for all the admin work e.g collect forms/payment etc then they will have more time for the real work ie teaching.

Wonder if SMPS employs teacher assistants to do such admin stuff then there can be more of such teachers like Mrs Ong.

So for those who are fortunate to have Mrs Ong as a FT, please remember to encourage her and show your appreciation or she will get burn out too πŸ˜„

$16? Are referring to the annual class phototaking by external photographer?
The photos that Mrs Ong taken..was from her own camera. She will save as Jpeg and email to us parents every now and then. Events like first day in sch, CNY, class outing,..p1 injection etc..all kinds. At the end of the year , she compiled all the photos in the CD and give to everyone in the class as a farewell gift. About the demerit point, Mrs Ong explained during the parent meeting in Jan 09 last year. It always back to zero demerit point at the beginning of each month. Only those very very serious cases the school will key in the moe system. But so far, the school have not done that.
That's really very sweet of her ! These are all v precious pics whether or not we need to pay for it...it's her effort made.....

Chill chill, I sense the temp here is increasing slightly πŸ˜‰

I agreed with Ponyo that it is not fair to compare other teacher with Mrs Ong. I believe all teachers are trying their best and have their own strength and weaknesses. It is nice that Mrs Ong has done the extra mile to update the parents but we can't discredit the rest of the teachers who are not so responsive. In my days, we have to learn to take note of what to bring and to do. If forget to bring textbook, 1st warning and if 2nd time then stand during lesson lor. This is a hard way to make us take our own responsibility and learn to be attentive in class.

Hi Sharmum, maybe you can just talk to your gal FT of the problem you're facing especially your gal is very shy and quiet type and see any ways to improve communication or any other way to reach her. Alternatively, ask your gal to get few phone number from her classmates and she can call and confirm with her friend.

Don't worry, i just want to share what is going on but not to compare. I understand every teacher is different has their own strong points. So far, my daughter treat her word like \"Seng Zhi\".

I hope this communication problem can be resolved soon. I will tryout what you've suggested. Looking forward to the PTM.

I don't want to compare but very anxios to know whats happening to our child who started her new school. you are right all teachers are trying their best and have their own strength and weaknesses I agree that. may be my expectations are bit high too, and also in her pre school they provided every thing in printed notices so my dd also have no idea of regular writing habbit. I have to teach her that.

By the way I still didn't received the timetable. my dh said \"don't worry, let her go step by step, now you know your teacher ok we have to adjust and go\". I got couple of numbers may be I can call them to find out ..
                :celebrate:

On the 1st day, can't bear to leave the school and stand outside peeping at her class and my DH said \"Do you want to stand here till she finishes school?? It's time to let go, she is starting a new phrase of life. She has to learn to grow up, take responsibility and make decision.\" Haiz, think daddies are always more cool and mummies are more kan chong. I'm also adjusting myself to let go. She is no longer a Pre-schooler but a junior πŸ˜‰

Did you received the pupil handbook? The one with st marg school uniform on the front page. If yes, the time table is paste inside.
