My DD is going to P1 next year. Just got the the booklists. Like to ask the existing parents, do I need to buy all the textbooks, files indicated? All the stuffs for ART class need to get too? Do anyone know where to get the uniform beside from the school? Are the textbooks available at Popular too?

Hi Swatch, I bought all the books and files. As for the Arts kit, I only bought the book because I had the drawing materials at home. Most of the books can be found in popular, but price differ slightly for some. Can't remember where to get the uniform beside the school.
Hope your DD enjoy her next milestone ! -

Hi Bridgette, thank you for your info. -
Hello! I'm wondering if any parent with kids in Primary One can share where the kids are for the various subjects at the moment, especially for Chinese and Mathematics. We are overseas and I'm working hard to narrow the gap so that returning to RV will not be too traumatising

hi,
my DD is also attending P1 next year. but i havent got any information regarding booklist and other things? did i miss out anything? -
Thanks verykiasu.
For Maths for example, did they basically finished the textbooks/ workbooks? Addition and subtraction up to two digits, with renaming ("bringing over")?
For English, are they writing in sentences? In prose? Given pictures? Any required target number of sentences?
Thank you. -

For English, they are definitely writing sentences and constructing story using the 5 'Ws' and 1'H'. Picture reading is also assessed. They also learnt simple past tense.
I find P1 teachers in RVPS are given much free vein in pacing out the learning, depending on the students' development. -
Thanks much Bridgette! This gives me some ideas on pegging my child's learning.
