Hi, just wondering if any parents can advise the culture of HGS. Personally i like the school alot after going to the open house but would like to know more about the teachers & curriculum. Students can join CCA in P1?

Looking forward for more sharing from the parents of HGS 🙂

              Hi everyone…

Anyone DD entering P1 in few days time?

I am getting a little stressed up now… I have started packing her school bag today and notice a few times which I am not too clear off and hope someone can give me some light on it.

Things to bring on the first day.

              1) Student’s handbook to bring daily - is this a normal A4 white clear folder with 20 pockets? I can’t find anything else in white clear folder except this.

              2) On the orientation book, page 3 there are items listed like the yellow, blue and red files for diff subjects, are we also to bring those on first day?

              3) 1 White Homework / Communication file, may I know what is this? Is this the zip folder with a whiteboard, marker and duster folder?

              4) Holistic Development Portfolio and Report Book, do we need to bring on the first day?

              Please advise…

              TIA

1)Student Handbook should only be available after school reopen and the form teacher will pass to your DD then ask for $ from you.

2)Bring them on 1st day and everyday.

3)Clear folder with pockets (the one u mentioned in item 1)

4)Can bring them on 1st day and will be kept by the teachers.

                  Hello everyone!

My daughter is from 2010 and I’m an alumni of Haig Girls’ School. I’m am still undecided about whether to send my daughter to the school. In my days (I graduated in 1988) Haig Girls School is a very popular school but in recent years, it seems the popularity has dropped. Academic results are also not as good as before. I remembered top score for my year was a psle score of 278.
Can anyone share their experience with the school and the academic results of the school in recent years? Most importantly I would like my daughter to be in a school where she gets to learn to think on her feet and to speak up confidently.

Oh and I read somewhere in this forum that Ms Rosalind Lee is still teaching in the school? She was my primary 6 form teacher and was very strict. Amazing if she’s still teaching there.

The sch popularity had gone up in recent few years and the acad results had been consistently above national average every year.

If u want your daughter to be in a school where she gets to learn to think on her feet and to speak up confidently, HGS should be the one suitable for her. You may like to visit the school during their open house somewhere in July to find out more whether u think the sch is suitable for your daughter.

                        Dear Parents,

I just want to thank you all for all your posts. My girl is only registering in 2016 (yes things may have chnaaned by then). But reading all the post its helpful to me to zoom down to which school we should put as first choice. 😃 Happy Easter everyone .
