Zack, phases 2A1 and 2A2 had been in existence for quite some time already. If you just found that out yesterday, then you are apparently not as ks as some of us here who had been monitoring the system years before our kids are due for registration!

After reading up on the Home adress part that the school just sees your IC address,as long as near the school ,they let you register your child.
Does this Phase registration also apply to ACS at Barker Road ?
2) Also, are there still places left if I am going to apply under Phase 2C ?
3) Should I go rent a condo there near the school just to get my child a place ??
Gosh , we parents really can go to lots of extend to put our child in good schools … -
If you are letting your child take school bus to school please take note that your pick up point must tally with the registration address. Most people do not know this but SLA requires all bus companies ferrying school children to submit a list of names and pick-up addresses to SLA yearly. This list must be endorsed by the school prior to submission. So you should know what this means!

Chixchix, there are definitely places left in phase 2C because they reserve half the remaining places after phase 1 and 2 for 2C (the other half goes to 2B). Based on past years trends, for ACS (pri) u do need to ballot under phase 2C even if you stay within 1km. For ACS (junior), the balloting was conducted for those staying 1-2km so if you move to within 1km you should be quite safe. Of coz no guarantee the year of ur kid’s registration is the same trend.
Poonie, but what if I am sending my child to my mil’s place every morning so she has to take the school bus from that address? And what if I did not use my address at all (ie not balloting anyway) ? -
I think things are really made difficult for parents ..
nevermind then i wont put him on bus..anyways, just now i went to ACS primary and Junior website..it seems that the kid going P1..all under Phase 2C ,within 1 km got in...only more than 1 km, some were not successful.
I find it so unfair..good schools in only some areas...and priority goes to the people staying around that school,,so if you are not anywhere near there..means your child cannot go to a good school.,.. need to opt for neaighbourhood schools. I feel that MOE should start making good schools in every neighbourhood....
reminds me of some neighbourhood schools where the kids like hooligans. -
chixchix:
When there is a 'good', there should also be a 'bad' to differentiate. I reckon MOE doesn't want to label their schools as good or bad as afterall, aren't schools for learning? We should more aptly refer them to 'popular' and 'neighbourhood' schools.

I dun really understand.......My kid's pick up point is at my mum house...I have registered my kid using own address. Both addresses are 1-2km away from school...
Does that makes any different???
