      There are 487 stamps in Box A & 119 stamps in Box B. How many stamps must be removed from Box A & put into Box B so that Box B will have 50 more stamps than Box A? (4 Marks)

      In the end

      A 1u
      B 1u+50

      total stamps = 487+119 = 606

      1u + 1u + 50 --> 606
      2u --> 556
      1u --> 278

      No of stamps must be removed from Box A & put into Box B = 487 - 278 = 209

        Daniel, Elizabeth & Fenny shared a box of chocolates. Daniel's share was 1/5 of what Elizabeth & Fenny received. Elizabeth got 7/12 of the chocolates. Fenny got 12 more chocolates than Daniel.

        (i) What fraction of the box of chocolates was Daniel's share? (2 marks)
        (ii) How many chocolates were there in the box? (2 marks)
        F = 7/12

        F 7u
        Total 12u

        D 1u ---------->2u
        (E+F) 5u ----->10u
        Total 6u ------>12u

        i)

        D = 1/6

        ii)

        D 2u

        E 7u

        F 12u - 2u - 7u = 3u

        3u - 2u = 1u

        1u --> 12

        No of chocolates were there in the box = 12u = 12*12 = 144

          Alice and Bernice have a total of $438. Cynthia has $62.The amount of money Alice has is trice the total of Bernice & Cynthia.

          (i) How much does Alice have? (3 Marks)
          (ii) How much do Alice & Cynthia have together? (1 Mark)
          A 3u
          (B+C) 1u

          Total = 438+62 = 500

          3u + 1u --> 500
          4u --> 500
          1u --> 125

          3u = 3*125 = 375

          i) The amount of money Alice has $375

          ii)

          Alice $375
          Cynthia $62

          Alice + Cynthia = $375 + $62 = $437

            24 sheep and hens are grazing in a field.These animals have a total of 70 legs. Find the number of sheep in the field.

            Assume all animals are hens , hens = 24 , total no of legs = 24*2 = 48

            the difference of legs between actual and assumption = 70 - 48 = 22

            the difference of legs between 1 sheep and 1 hen = 2

            the number of sheep = 22 / 2 = 11

                Qns

                Each digit can be used only once.
                Arrange the digits 2, 4, 7, 8, and 9 in these boxes so as to get the largest and smallest possible products

                Largest product :
                [][][]x[][]

                Smallest product
                [][][]x[][]

                    This question isnt very difficult. All you need to do is to link up the relationship between the toy cars and toy soliders.

                    Here's the solution

                        Auntie Lucy received $22 for every frying pan she sold. She also received a bonus of $85 for every 10 frying pans she sold. She sold 139 frying pans. How much money did she receive altogether.
